      Spiritual Tour
So it's been a long and here I am, successfully completed mid my 30s, oh yes it was a rock road and with all the lows there had been a lot to gratify too😊 I happily bid a farewell to my 35th year on this 12th March. And unlike every bday I planned to do it all different than usual so I booked Govardhan Ecovillage by ISKON wada that's 104 km from Borivali to dist-Palgahar. A huge spread of over 140 acre wellness ashram in India nestled in the Sahyadri Mountains. They have recreated Vrindawan, complete with temples, forests, and a replica of Govardhan Hill. So what can you do while you are here- 1. Immerse yourself in yoga, medidation 2. Learn about Ayurveda 3. Organic farming, eco-friendly living 4. Stay in ashram and surrender yourself to nature, savor satvik food, attend the satsangs, Do jaap's and chanting (immerse yourself in Krishna) 5. Feed cows (at gowshala) 6. Discover traditional handicrafts, gift shops etc I was taken a back by their hospitality when the booked ashram by us was surrounded with noise (due to ongoing construction) and one of the Prabhuji who immediately showed up when we arrived and in no time our ashram was upgraded to bigger and better stay without any questions 😍 That's not all they truly give an incredible service to their people, so we all are given a green wrist band upon arrival. This helps you get 'golf cart' & 'house keeping' which can be accessed in whole vicinity of GEV 🙏 I am a Vaishnav and we have grown up chanting Hare Krishna! but the real meaning of living the message of Krishna was well understood here. You will take back a sustainability living, spirtual mind and being self transformed. A total awesome way of celebrating bday (hope to visit soon) Hare Krishna 🙏

ideal place for Lord KRISHNA Bhakt
Excellent location to understand KRISHNALEELA and various events. Do not wear shoes ,as you need to walk bare foot in sand for 2 hours. They explain very nicely illustrated events of Lord Krishna .Property is very good. Renovation work going on in Shri Madan Mohan temple .Mahaprasad is very good if you like simple satvik food with self discipline of cleaning plate yourself.

Lord Krishna's abode must be like this only
We stayed in Mahavan cottage. Hygiene protocols has been followed strictly here. Golf Cart is available for free. Food is satvik and testy. We spent nearly one hour in Gaushala feeding, watching and brushing cows. Goverdhan school of Yoga has fentastic teachers. We participated in Residential Women's wellness workshop. We learnt Yoga, Panchkosha, asanas, pranayam, yog nidra, body cleansing technics. Nature watching, star gazing, tracking and much more. We were amused by the concept of a self sustainable village relying on Solar power, Cow dung plant, Waste Management, Water Recyling, Compost generation, Organic farming, etc.

      A truly joyous experience
The Govardhan Ecovillage experience is surreal. We went with no expectations and returned white- washed inside out. The accomodation is superb and the ayurveda centre, world class. Eating pure, simple food under the open skies is a delight. Do not miss any of the artis and kirtans- your soul will dance. Tip: Leave your life behind and go experience a whole new world.

Wonderful, comfortable, religious and fun holiday
This place is managed by Iskcon. Stayed there for 2 nights and 3 days. We were 18 of us with young kids and teenagers as well. First the spiritual aspect..beautiful temples, story sessions, animated videos on bhagwan Krishna...amazing Yamuna Arti in evening...bhajans n Havans.....so much to do and experience and yet one can pick and choose what to experience...no compulsion whatsoever... The gaushala was such an amazing experience...we spent nearly 2 hours there...feeding the cows and watching them. Huge campus...lots of greenery... The religious aspect is shared in such a beautiful, subtle and fun manner...kids and adults both love it. Now coming to the stay, the rooms are as good as a 4 star property....big spacious, nice beds and balcony..we stayed in the mahavan cottages..am told the others categories are even more luxurious..those were not open yet due to covid but were to start soon. Some minor issues- no room service, no telephone in room...and housekeeping was restricted due to covid. No TV as well but that's keeping in line with the ethos of the place...and there is so much to do, the kids didn't miss TV even once in 3 days. Staff can be a bit more proactive and need more training but given that this is managed not by a professional hotel chain, I think one can live with it. Food is satvik but really tasty. Limited variety..no deserts at night and only fixed buffet and no ala carte available..may be, they ll have something once covid is over. It's like a self service..however, the open area for eating is so beautiful ..amongst nature n trees. Some kids did create a bit of fuss but overall manageable. They have a wonderful spa..as good as it gets and extremely professional..as one would find in any 5 star hotel.... It takes 2-2.5 hours to reach from Mumbai...so very manageable distance. The 2 main temples at the main gate are also beautiful..kids were really amazed with the stories of Krishna...open areas, greenery, !! It's 6 star as an experience and probably, 4 stars as a hotel..but surely something unique and different !! Hygiene protocols followed nicely. Golf carts available on call for free but take a bit of time to come..given the busy period... Voda, Airtel barely work but jio is fine in the ashram....WiFi works fast in rooms n reception and halls but not available in the entire campus. Day trips are also available and saw a lot of ppl coming there as well. Cleanliness was very good and staff was generally very humble and polite.

5 amazing days spent at Govardhan
This review is a tad late, but we had such an amazing experience, I just had to share. First off, this is a small spiritual oasis just outside of Mumbai. As travelers (from South Africa) it was a wonderful place to experience delicious Indian food (always a wide variety and more than enough), find tranquility and friendly faces willing to share knowledge and heart. We loved the stunning nature, the beautiful representation of the various holy places, the temples, the daily ceremonies, as well as the dedication and kindness of the people at Govardhan (to name a few - Nimai Lila Das, Rakesh Panda and his wife, and Pradeep). You must do the day tour with Nimai Lila Das, visit the cows (try their homemade dairy treats at the store), hike up the mountain and buy some ayurvedic products! Overall, it's an experience that we won't forget and will take with us. We would love to go back one day and always recommend it to others. Thank you

One Day Trip to ISKCON Managed Eco Village
It was a one day trip that included a well planned tour of the village led by a ISKCON member and two times meals in Morning and Lunch. I was amused by the very concept of developing a village which is self sustainable and completely relying on Solar power, Cow dung plant, Waste Management, Water Recyling, Compost generation, Organic farming, etc. Its a place which is a must visit for every conscious human being and get enlightened by the wisdom being shared by the resident monks, while enjoying the serenity and purity of the place.

Govardhan Eco Village is a beautiful day picnic destination near Mumbai. It is about 2 1/2 hours drive which you will enjoy as the drive is scenic and road is without potholes. Our group was of 26 senior citizens.
It is a replica of the Mathura Govardhan hill and village. There is a lot to walk, but if you are Sr.citizen or have any disability the electric bungees are available. They provide a guide who takes you around and explain in details each point. But I feel that one day is not sufficient to see and enjoy all these places. Food is good. But evening tea you have to purchase separately (which is very expensive) as it is not included in the package. The Yamuna Arati conducted in the evening is an experience worth going through as it is beyond explanation.

We visited Govardhan Ecovillage while returning from wada. We were told that there's Iscon temple. We didn't expect much but it turned out to be a very clean, calm and beautiful place.

    Temple
There are two temples. We visited only one of them. It is built in marble. Various stories in bhagwatam are carved on the walls of the temple. Roof is spectacular. Phases of Lord Krishna's life are displayed in form of huge paintings. Here they distribute lunch as Prasad. That was simple but tasty.

    Ecovillage
After lunch we went in Govardhan Ecovillage. I haven't visited Vrindavan but people over there told us that it's a replica of Vrindavan. This area is beautifully designed and is covered with big trees. Even in the month of May entire area was cool. There are many temples, status of radha-krishna on mesmerizing landscapes. One can spend time observing colourful fishes in the pond or can relax on the lawn beneath tree. Here they have preserved the nature in best possible way. There is a goshala too.

    Transport
We couldn't spend much time as we had to rush for bus. Transportation is an issue. If you have your own vehicle then fine but if you are traveling by public transport it will be a little difficult. St service is there but it's not on time. You may stop a rickshawwala but have to be alert about charges. Condition of road is too bad.

    Zero charges
Everything inside the premises is totally free of cost. Only place where you have to take out your wallet is the gift shop.

There are arrangements for accommodation too. Overall best place for 1day trip.
