About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Camper6158580 contributionsI definitely do not recommend this companyI am very disappointed with this tour company and Viator. Our cruise ship was arriving later than planned, so I contacted the operator days before to arrange a time change. They agreed and then showed up at the original time and claimed we were a no-show. Despite me having a record of the conversation, Viator refused a refund. Very unprofessional conduct all round. I would definitely not recommend this company. I would have cancelled if I had known.Written 2 March 2024
- 796debig0 contributionsDay trip to North Goa by carThe day trip we had to North Goa was excellent. Our tour guide, Mr. Caesar Pareira , went with us and did a fantastic job of narrating the locations we went. We reserved a private tour for three-person in a sedan car. What we ended up with, though, was a small car, where the three of us had to cram into the back. When we asked the tour operator M/s Yo Tour (I believe they are the local operators that get contracts from Trip Advisor) to provide a roomier car, one of their staff members replied that was their standard procedure and that we would have to reserve a car for five people. Later on, though, we learned from the driver that M/s Yo Tour had the option to switch to one of their roomier vehicles. The driver also revealed that these tour companies don't have offices in Goa; instead, they outsource contracts. Here, we offer our insights to help our fellow travelers learn from our mistakes. Due to the fact that the tour companies' overall fees are far more than the value of the services they provide. If such a service is scheduled locally from Goa, the cost could be almost halved. Our tour guide, Mr. Caesar Pareira, was outstanding, and we heartily suggest other travelers seek him out.Written 11 January 2024

- treasurepv0 contributionsScam Alert! Worst Experience I've Ever Had with a Tour Operator!Scam/bait-and-switch alert! 5 months before my planned visit, I booked a tour for 3 for $89, saying I was on a cruise ship. Confirmed everything 2 months later (via TripAdvisor's messaging.) 5 days before the tour I asked where I would be met at the port. No response. The night before the tour -- after I’d paid and online cancelation was no longer an option -- Yo Tours wrote to me via Whatsapp instead of thru TripAdvisor's messaging saying I was outside their range and they couldn't pick me up; instead I'd have to find a taxi at the port to go to a train station. There I would then need to take a second taxi provided by YoTours, which would charge me 4000 rupees ($50 USD.) 6 minutes later they sent another WhatsApp message saying I needed to confirm now, because they needed to book the taxi. I said I assume if I did not confirm they would refund my money and they said no, they would count it as a no-show. I kept asking why they hadn't said any of this to me before, but they ignored the question (and wouldn't answer my phone calls.) But the reason was clear: they wanted me to cancel so they could keep the money. I asked how I was to find them if I took these 2 taxis, and they said to meet them at a large church, but said they would not have a sign and that they would not have vehicles saying "YoTours." So I was supposed to meet unidentified people, without any proof that they worked for the company! The women I was to do the tour with got nervous, as this seemed extremely sketchy, so I told YoTours I was canceling and that I would complain to TripAdvisor and seek a refund. THEN the day of the tour, the provider wrote messages to me via TripAdvisor to create the false impression (if TripAdvisor reviewed the messages) that we had an agreed upon place and were waiting for me and didn't know why I wasn't showing up. In reviewing recent reviews I noted several in the past year that complained about last minute bait and switches by the company. Beware! They couldn't have been more unpleasant or more unethical.Written 16 December 2023
- mjnorth0 contributionsA fantastic tour for families seeking flexibility and fun!I would highly recommend this tour! We joined Anthony from a cruise ship with 2 children and our ship docked very late, but Anthony was fantastic at making the most of the time we had and being flexible with what we wanted to see and how long we wanted to stay at each stop. He was very knowledgeable about Goa and its history, and allowed us to feel very relaxed by making our safety and comfort his number one priority! He even RAN back to a market stall to collect a watch for my son who had desperately wanted it, but bartered too low 😅 The tour was also incredible value for money compared to the cruise ship excursions and covered all the “must see” sights. Anthony and Yo Goa Tours were also fantastic when it came to communicating our ship was arriving late and arranging a new start time and pick up place. Thank you, Anthony for a five star experience - according to my son, it was the best tour he’s every done! 🤩Written 15 December 2023

- rawalabhay0 contributionsGreat tour for families, definitely recommend getting a personal car.The tour is an amazing experience. Anand was very knowledgeable and showed us a true Goan experience with churches. We could spend as much or as little time at various stops. We had lunch at Viva Panjim and that was a delightful stop. Walk through Fontainas is a must. There are little bakeries that you go past and definitely worth stopping in them. Just need to ensure that you have something to cover up legs/shoulders while going through active churches.Written 13 July 2023
- Shan105Noon0 contributionsWonderful day tour of GoaWe had a very fulfilling day tour of North Goa. We learned about the history and culture of the city and enjoyed visiting everywhere on the itinerary. Our tour guide was wonderful and treated us to an afternoon drink and suggested the perfect lunch location on the beach. Our driver took us safely all around town. Highly recommend!Written 29 May 2023

- minakshij20130 contributionsA walk through the streets of colonial timesI have enjoyed exploring the Portuguese-influenced Goa on foot with Padmaj. A knowledgeable, well-spoken young man who knows his way around the Portuguese-influenced quarters. He even took time to taste pastries of the authentic bakery of Goa. He helped me to understand and gain knowledge of Portuguese-influenced Goa and answered all my questions and more.Written 18 March 2023

Vrushali was our guide, she was interesting, knowledgable and took us to places we would never have found. Panjim is a diverse city with lots of interesting buildings, and lots of history. We even managed a coffee in the 18th June area. Loved it all. We thought it was worth the 500ir donation.
