5 Senses Tour guide Ramesh was awesome. Over 3 hours he showed us breathtaking monuments, intricately carved sculptures and rock cut cave temples of a kind i have never seen anywhere else in the world. We especially loved the bas relief called Arjuna Penance and the carvings inside Mahishasura mardini and Varaha cave temples. The shore temple was the highlight of this day of fantastic experiences. I would recommend this guided tour to anyone who wants to explore and appreciate Mahabalipuram

My friends and I were in Chennai to attend a dear friend's wedding. We took this opportunity to visit the world heritage monument at Mahabalipuram. I saw some great reviews for 5 Senses Tours and booked their guided tour where their Guide directly meets us in Mahabalipuram. Ramesh was a wonderful guide full of in depth insights into life under the 7th century Pallava Kings. He was also an expert in interpreting the carvings. We learn so much and enjoyed the tour thoroughly. It was one of the best 3 hour walks I have ever done anywhere in the world.

We reached Mahabalipuram and were met by our guide Ramesh from 5 Senses Tours near the car parking. Over the next 3 hours we walked to all the great cave temples including the chariots, mahishasura mardini cave, varaha cave, trimurti cave, Arjuna penance and the sea shore temple. It was a lovely way to appreciate this world heritage site. Ramesh was a great story teller. We learnt a lot about the sculptures and also about the stories behind each monument. We even saw some incomplete monuments which were left after the Kings lost power. The lunch organised was phenomenal. Overall a great way to explore Mahabalipuram.

The tour around Mahabalipuram was a great introduction to the town and covered all the key sites (10 sites/monuments). The tour was done at a good pace (3 hours) and gave plenty of time to see the sights without feeling rushed. My guide, Ramesh, was very knowledgeable. He spoke about the sites and pointed out the key areas, but then let you have some free time to explore and take photographs on your own at each place - I did not feel rushed at any point to move to the next site. Driving around by tuktuk was absolutely fine (Mahabalipuram is much more laid back than Chennai), and it was only a short distance between the sites. Definitely take the morning tour, as by the end the temperature was getting hot! My tour was done directly from Mahabalipuram as I was already staying there (no transfer from Chennai), and also was a private tour for just me - as a solo traveller its often difficult to find tours that don't insist on a minimum of 2 or more people, or where you end up in large coach groups, so this made a great difference. This was the third tour I did through 5 Senses Tours, and would definitely recommend them, was easy to book via What's App.

At last I got an opportunity to visit Mahabalipuram the world heritage site. I booked a guided tour from 5 senses tours. Ramesh who hails from Mahabalipuram itself was on time and met us at the parking lot in Mahabalipuram. We loved the carvings at the different cave temples like Pandava, Varaha and Trimurti. Ramesh also showed us the old light House of Mahabalipuram which used to aid seafarers a thousand years ago. It was a great was to see and appreciate this world heritage monument. Highly recommended

Spending time in Tamil Nadu has been a real cultural and educational experience, particularly around the Hindu faith and spirituality. This was my last trip, having visited Chennai, Kanchipuram, Madurai and Pondicherry.... But Ramesh my guide only built on my understanding with historical, geological and legendary facts.

We spent three comfortable hours walking and talking, his English was excellent as he guided me through the many (10 I think) sites. Some are complete, others part incomplete having been interrupted by the war.

The sights are quite astonishing, from the quality of the stories and gods carved into the granite to the range of architecture and history.

There's the option at the end to watch stone carving, a skill which Mahabalipuram is renowned for and in fact has a world leading college. Ramesh also kindly took photos for me and if me and forwarded them.

I would thoroughly recommend the tour rather than visiting alone, as you see things and experience the connectivity between the people, their faith and the landscape.

Our guide knew a lot about the beautiful sights we visited and gave us enough time to take pictures. He also helped us with bothersome sellers and other tourists who wanted to take pictures with us. That made us feel very safe.

I am from Madrid, Spain and had come to India to visit some friends. As I was in South India someone suggested I should visit Mahabalipuram. I decided to stay one night in a hotel in Mahabalipuram and booked this tour during the day. My guide was Ramesh and he met me in my hotel in lobby and we started our tour. It was a very interesting tour as we saw remarkable cave temples, architecture and carvings. The design and intricacy was fantastic. The temple next to sea shore was amazing. This is a very well planned tour and must visit. I would recommend Ramesh and 5 senses tours ro anyone coming to Mahabalipuram. Expect a great time!

I booked this tour with 5 senses, our guide Mr. Ramesh was very informative and explained us each spot in detail. Also, I choose tour with tuk tuk option and that was as wise choice. I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to visit Mahabalipuram and who have interest in ancient hindu history.

We completed the Mahabalipuram guided tour with 5sense. Our guide was Mr.Ramesh from 5 sense.

He was very patient and explained to our family of adults and kids to the smallest of details.

Despite being from Chennai and having visited many times, we had a lot to learn from his explanation
