All the place we visit is so pretty and amazing,, specially Dunhuang , can ride the camel 🐫 on the desert, even need climb up the hill to see the view at bottom,, is very hard climb but very worth it.

Xinjiang offers very diverse scenery. From dry and brown Turpan to beautiful mountains with trees, snow and a beautiful lake! Not to forget a wonderful guide, Hassan.

Lesley, the owner of the company is very trustworthy, responsible and very compromising. The hotels and food are excellent and beyong expectation. The driver, Mr. Cao were very careful and the guide, Mr. Benjamin was cheerful and helpful. Another staff worth praising is Mei Ling. During the trip, I had a heart attack and Lesley sent Mei Ling, to help me and my wife. She was with us throughout the whole duration when I was hospitalised in Dunhuang Hospital. I am very grateful that they went the extra mile to make sure that all our needs were taken care of. Mei Ling went beyond the call of her duty by going to Jiuquan which is about 400 km away to get extend our visas. She even left behind her family in Dunhuang and accompanied us to Lanzhou which is more than 1000 km away to made sure that we boarded our plane safely. Such sacrifices really touched our hearts. Even though the company is called Silk Road Travel, they also have other destinations in China. In future, if I were to visit China again , I would definite engage this company again. I wanted to experience xinjiang as so much controversial articles has been written for this region. The holiday has been enjoyable, peaceful and very scenic. Weather on the whole was pleasant but certainly very dry Our tour guide for north xinjiang was John who was very accommodating to bring us to scenic spots for photography along the routes. Our drivers for the south (Yasin) and north (Astin) were superb!!!

XJ is truly a magical place! In the first part of tour we travelled from Urumqi to Urho, Fuhai, Kanas/Hemu, then to Turpan. I want to thank our guide John( Anwar) & driver Astin for making our trip a most memorable & enjoyable one. John is fluent in English & 6 other local languages, so important because we are non Chinese speaking. He also made a video for us at the end of trip! Astin is a very careful & skillfull driver, especially when the roads were wet & slippery after heavy snowfall! We are sure to return to explore rest of XJ with them another time!

The trip was very well planned and organized. Meals are delightful and accomodations are above average. Tour bus is comfortable with constant toilet stops. Tour guide speaks fluent English and mandarin. Friendly and responsible driver. Overall it’s a very good trip.

The initial correspondence through We chat by Lesley were warm and prompt. Me & my wife were greeted warmly by Kashgar Tour Guide Kareem upon landing at Kashgar Airport. The journey hence begins with this beautiful Xinjiang City of Kashgar. We also met many international foreign friends in this group. Many are seasonal travellers with vast travelling knowledge. It was a pleasant 3 days in Kashgar where we visited Kashgar old city, the Bazaar, beautiful snowcapped mountain of Pamir. Next we were greeted by Guide "John" @Urumqi Airport, the next phase of 14 days of itinerary stretching from City of Turpan, Urumqi, Fuhai, Hemu, Kanas Nature Reserve, Burqin, Kuitun, Sayram Lake, Yining, Tekes, Naraty, Bayingbuluk, Kuqa City & Tianshan Grand Canyon. I must emphasize that Lesley have a remarkable Team of Drivers and Tour Guides. Kareem in Kashgar is both devoted and professional. "John" were of very special mentioned in term of subtle good nature character. Very dedicated with warm hospitality. Never turned down additional impromptu request. Time allocation at Scenic Spot is both relaxed, comfortable & entertaining. He is also our ad hoc photographer. John took great family photos & videos with very good editing technique. Omitting the human traffic wave in China and the countless time consume in waiting at Scenic places that were totally beyonds Xinjiang Travel Agency control, I would have no complain against such a wonderful group of heartwarming guides. Northern Xinjiang is such a place of great beauty, with a wide variation of picturesque landscape, vibrant culture city, snowcapped mountains with different shade of hues & colours. Simply indescribable, having travel to places like Finland, Iceland, Switzerland and hence able to do a detailed comparison. You would need to travel to these places personally to lively experience it. Always avoid peak season travel that coincide with China national holiday with such a huge human population. Otherwise everything will be fine. Me, my wife would definitely chose to engaged Lesley team again for the next journey of China Trips probably the Silk Route. Kudos to Urumqi tour guide "John " for the good work , the care , the passion and the professional work etiquettes. I would highly recommend Silk Road Travel company. We did the 10-day Silk Road itinerary from Xi’an to Urumqi. The main liaison (Chandler) was extremely prompt, patient and professional at all times. Responses by both email and WeChat were nearly instantaneous and we thoroughly enjoyed the itinerary planned for us - the sites selected were incredible and the team of drivers and guides were very professional, knowledgable and adaptable. Silk Road Travel even prepared a surprise birthday cake for one of us during the trip which was a very special touch. We were very happy as well with the hotels selected - all very centrally located in their respective cities, clean and comfortable. The trip is very full - we were amazed from morning to night and if it wasn’t for work obligations back home we would have been happy to continue on further as there is just too much to see!

I just came back from an 11 days Silk Road private tour with my family. The trip started from Urumqi and ended at Xi’an. We organised a 10 days private tour between Gansu and Xinjiang. Leah was great organising the tour, hotels were very good and professional guide and drivers. Our Chinese friends had a problem in Mogau caves in Donuhang that's why I couldn't give them 5.

We took 7 days Northern Xinjiang tour including Urumqi, Sayram lake, and grasslands such as Xiata, Kalajun and Naraty. This time, tour director Mr. Chandler did perfect preparation for our trip. We had many requests such as destinations, period, budget, etc. but he tried to meet our requirements as much as he can. And his quick response to our inquiries was very helpful and made us feel reliable. In addition, all the destinations he proposed were quite nice and beautiful, and we had forgettable memories there. As for the travel, driver Mr. Long took us to all of the places very safe. Thanks to his cheerful personality, our trip was filled with pleasure. Because of budget restrictions, we didn’t have an English speaking tour guide, and we speak only a little Chinese, but he actively tried to communicate with us by using translation function of WeChat. Also, he always asked us if we want to see each of destination in order to meet our requirements.
