    What to Expect
South East Asia is home to the highest diversity of mangroves species in the world and the mangroves around Langkawi are no different. Naturalist guide explains the mangrove ecology and its benefits to man and wildlife.

We often see spectacular kingfishers, sea eagles, kites, plovers, herons, fiddler crabs and mud skippers. We pass a local fishing station where local fishermen put to sea or return after a day out. We start kayak at slow pace to enjoy this serene river and pedal towards the open sea.

The kayak journey lasts about 90 minutes, followed by lunch at a local house. We then take a short drive and easy 500 meter hike to a secluded rainforest trail for a swim in a cool jungle stream.

10.20am: Arrived at Kubang Badak Jetty. Safety brief by Nature Guide. Toilet break.

10.30am: Get on kayak and begin tour. Pedaling through Kubang Badak River. Guide will narrate and explain about mangrove ecology and wildlife we encounter.

12.00pm: Return to jetty & depart to local Malay family house for lunch.

12.40pm: Depart to Jungle stream (Waterfall) starting point for swimming.

1.05pm: Arrived at the trail and begin to trek to the stream. Swimming in crystal creek stream.

2.00pm: Trek back to starting point and depart back to Hotel.

Really enjoyed the trip. As it is quiet season we had the guide to our selves, so could have plenty of time to ask questions and find out loads about the island etc. Kayaking was excellent, nothing too strenuous. Saw lots of local birds. We...More

This is probably one of the best activities I've done as a holiday excursion. We were collected from our cruise ship and transferred to the destination all included. After a short briefing about how to kayak (my first time), we set off with our guide...More

The guide was very friendly and happy to show us as much as possible. The lunch was good to and the pictures made by the guide at the waterfall were amazing!
