Awesome experience to get to know more of the tibetan community living indian himalaya, and of Dalai Lama
I have contacted Himachal Bylocals for this tour based on reviews and could really not be happier of IT. After booking the visit with tripadvisor and being contacted by the local team, I met the guide, Mr. Vikas on the selected day and we started the tour. Mr. Vikas is a exquisite human being, very knowledge and professional, with perfect English speaking skills (although he know many other languages too), and genuinely gentle too. It was a true pleasure to meet him during the tour, and get to know not only about the Dalai Lama and the history of the tibetan community in Dharamsala, but also many information and curiosities about the culture in the area of himachal pradesh, the himalayan mountains, along with past and present indian culture in general too. After meeting in the central square in McLeod Ganj, we visited the Kalachara Temple, small but peaceful, full of tibetan traditional arts, mani wheels, and with very good vibes. The visit then continued at the Tsuglagkhang Complex, which is the temple where the Dalai Lama also resides. There, we were lucky enough to visit at the time where monks train their daily "debate" practice. In addition, we visited the whole temple and got lots of information. After lunch, we continued the visit at the Tibet museum complex, where I got to know many more aspects of the tibetan community and culture (from the past and and present political situations, to the traditional view of astrology and medicine) the currently living in this very special place within the Indian Himalayan mountains. In short, it was a true pleasure taking this tour, and would warmheartedly recommend it to anyone.

Best monsoon trekking experience, gorgeous views of the Dauladhar mountains and the valleys below..
We had the best experience of our life on our trek to Triund, the trek was a tough one, but the gorgeous views that we got to see from the Triund top, made us forget all the effort and difficulty that we had to go through while trekking. The monsoon has made the trek magical with many water streams flowing enroute, the clouds playing hide and seek all the time, and the gorgeous greenery of the hills. Our guide Ranjith was very good and encouraged us through our journey, and he accomodated our last minute decision to stay overnight on the Triund top, which gave us an opportunity to enjoy the beautiful Dauladhar range in the evening light, with rays of the setting sun falling on the snow capped mountains and illuminating the entire range, it was a sight to behold. Next day morning we woke up to the most beautiful views, with the sun rising above the Dauladhar mountains and lighting up the entire valley below, it was an experience that would be etched in our memories forever.

    Poor Customer Service
I wasn't able to make it because the monsoon rains closed the train and highway. They don't have a refund option so they did no work and I paid full price. I wouldn't recommend this service for that reason as it's a sign of poor customer service. I hope they reconsider so I can come back and change this review.

Awesome tour and views around Dharamshala
Great tour. It actually took us 9 hours from Bestwestern Revanta McLeod Ganj (started 9am, returned 6pm). Tour organizer is awesome and responsive. Guide and driver were really nice. We covered a lot of ground, including scenic views from Gaddi, walk through a Naddi village, climbed up to the waterfalls in Bhagsu, lunch at the Mcleod Ganj market, Dalai lama’s residence and temple, Gyuto monastery, and then art institute at Norbulingka. Packed day. Be prepared to walk (which we loved). We registered close to 20,000 steps on apple iphone.

It was a wonderful guided tour of Shimla. Although it rained at Fagu we managed to have a wonderful time at Shimla. Himanchal by Locals and its wonderful team ensured we had the best of the local experience. Mr. Raj coordinated it very well for us and so did our guide Mr. Sanjay. Great tour of there places:

Masroor Rock Cut Temple built in 8th century and that has statues of Ram, Sita, and Laxman. Carved out of a single rock.

Kangra fort that changed hands over the years for its strategic location in between three rivers.

Bajreswari Devi Temple with doors and place of worship made of silver.

Lot of driving and some walking. All three places were really neat and of course the scenic views were awesome.

Tour organizer, guide, and driver were awesome.

Wonderful experience. Our guide, Vikas ji, was a joy to be around, full of anecdotes and a lovely sense of humour. All three sites were covered with an ease and we definitely came out of the experience with a rich knowledge of the history of Kangra along with some memories that will stay with us for a lifetime. Highly recommended!!!

This is a must do trip if you come to this part of India.
I was worried how to find points of interest while visiting Dharashala and found this on trip advisor.
Took all the worry away, Ashish the guide was most excellent, very knowledgeable, made us feel safe and welcome.
We visited all the sites listed plus others and had a great lunch.
Be aware these sites are not near each other so there is time in the car but that doesn't distract from the experience as you get to see the real India.
Strongly recommend this to anyone.

We had one day tour to some ancient monuments in the vicinity of Dharamsala. An old temple ruins carved out of the solid rock, the oldest fort in India at the meeting point of two rivers and a Durga temple. It was a very interesting round tour with an excellent guide, Vikas Kumar that knows India, its strength and weakness, history and culture, from today and back to the very old times.
We want also to mention our driver. The way to the monuments is a mountain way with a lot of turns and bumps. The driver managed it elegantly and smoothly, and we felt our self safe in his car.
