Overview

Tokyo is one of the world’s most vibrant cities, and an internationally renowned hub for food, shopping, and entertainment. On this comprehensive day tour, get an insider's look at the Japanese capital’s electric mix of traditional and modern. Enjoy visits to Shinto shrines and Edo-era gardens combined with stops throughout the city’s pulsating downtown.

What to Expect

Begin your day with convenient pick-up at your Tokyo hotel and then head by bus to Meiji Shrine, Tokyo’s most popular Shinto site. Here your guide fills you in on the fascinating history of feudal Japan. Keep an eye out for the shrine’s larger-than-life torii, or Shinto gates—some of the tallest in the country.

From there, cruise past the Japanese House of Parliament on your way to the Imperial Palace East Garden, the sprawling lawn of an Edo-era castle. Browse the souvenir stalls along Nakamise Shopping Street before getting a peek at Tokyo’s oldest temple, the 7th-century Buddhist pagoda of Senso-ji (aka Asakusa Kannon).

Enjoy a tasty lunch at a garden-side restaurant before setting sail on Tokyo Bay, where you can admire the city’s neon-filled skyline during a scenic 1-hour cruise. Enjoy free time to explore the futuristic shopping complex of Aqua City Odaiba before the tour concludes at Tokyo Station.

It was a great way to get to know Tokyo in one day.

It is a long day but you cover a lot of ground. Our guide, Saiki, provided continuous commentary throughout the tour about Japan, Tokyo, local life and the specific places that we visited. It was a thoroughly enjoyable event.

I doubt that. they have certain pick up points as stated on the tour of your choice and one has to make their own way to those.
