Located seven miles west of the city center, Glasgow Airport (GLA) is Scotland's second-busiest airport, handling more than 7.7 million travelers in 2014. The airport has one runway and a single terminal with three piers: West (international flights), Central (domestic flights) and East (flights to Ireland and Scottish islands, as well as flights operated by low-cost carriers). About two dozen airlines fly between GLA and destinations in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Asia and North America. Ground transportation options at Glasgow Airport include buses, taxis and rental cars. For passengers who are driving, short-term and long-term parking lots are located onsite.
