Serving the southwest portion of British Columbia, Victoria International Airport (YYJ) is located 14 miles northwest of the city. It is the province's second-busiest airport, serving about 1.7 million passengers in 2014. Air Canada, Alaska Airlines, Air Transat, Orca Airways, Pacific Coastal Airlines, Sunwing Airlines, United Express and WestJet operate at the airport, flying non-stop to destinations across Canada, as well as points in the United States and Mexico. The airport has three runways and one passenger terminal with nine gates. Airport amenities include retail stores, restaurants, free WIFI internet, a currency exchange, free baggage carts and a children's play area.
