Sadly I only looked at Lufthansa reviews after I had booked my tickets - my bad. As so many others have noted, Lufthansa are incapable of providing flights on time, create massive delays which then causes huge issues for anyone trying to get connecting flights. As someone else has also noted in previous reviews, I would also avoid any connecting flights in Frankfurt. The behaviour of the staff in Frankfurt airport is truly appalling. Lufthansa arrived in Frankfurt over an hour late, which meant we had very little time to catch the connecting flight - and beleive me when I say its an absolute marathon to get from one side of the airport to the other. After our family ran through the airport, panicked and out of breath, we explained our situation to security search staff (there were 3 of them standing and laughing with no one else around). To my disbelief (after explaing we didnt speak german) one woman proceeded to go through a bizarre routine of rudely shouting at us in angry german and then returning to talk to her friends - this happened several times before another man arpproached and explained we could continue to wait for the 3 to decide to serve us or go to another section of the security check place. We made a point of thanking him for finally having the decency to explain clearly and politely unlike his colleague (although I should note he watched his colleague behave like this for some time before eventually stepping in) We then had to go through some sort of bizarre set security measures again (despite already passing security for the previous flight) where they took their time rubbing each one of us up and down, emptying our bags, and rubbing pieces of paper over all our stuff to check for any possible traces of drugs (we were a family for goodness sake!). It appeared the more we tried to explain we were about to miss our connecting flight the longer they took and the more bizarre checks they chose to undertake This very much came across as spiteful behaviour in response to our displeasure at being yelled at and ignored when we asked for help. After finally getting through, and a lot more running.... surprise surprise the connecting flight is now heavily delayed and Lufthansa can't make up their mind which part of this giant airport they now wish us to wait in (cue more marching up and down this giant airport) Never again will I use Lufthansa. Never again will I visit or get a connecting flight via Frankfurt airport. The behaviour from the airport staff is absolutely disgusting.

Just traveled back from visiting folks in France (via Heathrow, Frankfurt Airport and Basel Airport) My trips to visit folks are always long and arduous (easily 12 - 13 hours ) as I either have many trains, or several trains, then a flight, then more trains, to get to my destination ( a small town). I thought I'd try flying for a chance to get there the same day on the outbound journey. I chose Lufthansa, because I thought: It's a national Airline - they will be reliable. And, in some ways they are: The flight attendants are helpful and lovely. You get a free bottle of water and one piece of milk chocolate on every flight. But, I would not recommend to anyone to fly Lufthansa on a connecting flight via Frankfurt Airport. Absolutely to be avoided, if you want a stress free / smooth connection. Suffice it to say, that on both legs of this trip, outbound and inbound, they did not deliver: I missed my connecting flights. Yesterday, the flight from Basel was severely delayed in it's boarding and departure, because the plane we were due to take arrived late from Frankfurt. No reason was given as to why. They seem to calculate their connections in Frankfurt so tightly, that if your first flight is delayed, you don't stand much of a chance to get the next one, not least as they are never in nearby gates or even areas. I ran so hard from A to B ( literally)( I only had well under 10 min.to do so - my throat still hurts) I could see the plane at the gate, was asked to show passport and scan boarding card (less than 5 min.after scheduled departure time), and then told the flight had just been closed. Then the desk-guy said: "Why didn't you get here faster? The others From the delayed Basel-flight did" - Really? (There can't have been that many, and I didn't see any.) They probably had no cabin luggage to run with...Maybe they got out of the plane sooner and away in a shuttle- bus before me, because they were sat at the front of the plane? ( we waited for the shuttle bus to move , for about 5 minutes, and that was about 10 to 4 (16.00 departure) The worst thing is, that apparently this is pretty normal in Frankfurt / LH- Flights going to & coming from that Airport. The personnel just shrugs it off. On the journey out, last Thursday, flight from London was severely delayed, again because the plane due to be boarded arrived with a delay. So when we landed in Frankfurt,my connection had left 35 minutes ago! I was rebooked on the next flight, 5 hours later, and given a €15 allowance to spend on food. But when I explained that I would arrive so late in Basel (by 22:00) that I wouldn't be able to continue my journey ( by train - loosing use of my already paid for tickets) and would be obliged to stay in a hotel near Basel Airport and buy new train tickets the next day for the remainder of my journey, they did not offer me a Hotel voucher. They said they were not responsible for what happened after they got me to my destination airport. They just said I should file a complaint and ask for compensation. My advice: Avoid Frankfurt Airport, which is absolutely massive and pricipipally uses Lufthansa flights, unless you actually want to go there. It is apparently understaffed in the baggage handling area, too... Not to speak of the recent strike action. Just avoid!!!!

Terrible customer service. I spent almost 1300 gbp for the outbound flight from chennai to london. During check in process only, i was informed that I need transir visa due to brexit. During booking itself, i entered my nationality as Indian. If they stopped me from being booked without transit visa, i would not hav lost my 1300 gbp. I had to rebook another flight in Air india. Never consider lufthansa or booking.com in my lifetime

MANAGEMENT SHOULD BE FIRED I spent 7 frustrating hours trying to make a reservation with no luck. 1 Error Messages with no indication of what was wrong! After 6 hours I called. I was charged money to take my name, then I was given a Boooking Number and told to call back in an hour. I waited 2 hours, got online again and got more error messages. They make United Airlines look good to me. MANAGEMENT SHOULD BE FIRED BECAUSE THEY DO NOT KNOW HOW TO MANAGE COMPUTER SYSTEMS.

Wow! I mean wow! Team at the gate are the rudest and most disgusting people I have encountered in fly ing for over 25 years. How low can you go? Story was that my luggage carry on was 9,5 kg 8kg is allowed and at the gate woman said I need to check in. I refused and said I would take things I bough in the airport where lady shouting I am not allowed to take them out as it too late to do that… shocking! Too late to take my shopping bag that I m allowed to carry separately. She then called another guy who was threatening to take me off plane and refused to show name tag or ID. At this time my nerves are damaged but this experience! Shame on you Lufthansa so employing and making your staff policemen with no manners or dignity. Will avoid at all costs to fly with you again
