Jakarta-based Lion Air (JT) flies to about 40 destinations within Indonesia, as well as other points within Asia and the Middle East. The airline has hubs located at Jakarta's Soekarno–Hatta International Airport (CGK), Surabaya's Juanda International Airport (SUB), Batam's Hang Nadim International Airport (BTH) and Makassar's Sultan Hasanuddin Airport (UPG). Lion Air primarily flies planes configured with just an Economy Class cabin, although it also has some two-cabin (Business Class and Economy Class) planes. The airline also operates some subsidiaries, including Batik Air, Thai Lion Air, Malindo Air, Wings Air and Lion Bizjet.

Worst airline ever

Lion air is by far the worst airline I have ever flown with.
Every leg of the flights were delayed and no one feels the need to tell you that at check-in. You stand around at the gate waiting to hear a boarding announcement but it doesn't happen. So you go to the gate desk and they say it's been delayed by an hour or 3.
They cancelled all my initial flights and I had to move 1 forward and the return later. I tried to change my return again because of medical reasons and they charged me an additional 50%.
If you can avoid it don't use them ever.

DISASTER

What a disaster. They changed my flight a day before then after that the delay was 4 hours. According to an Indonesian friend, this airline always changed your flight a day before, sumilir to batik and supermarket because they are the same company. If you are foreigner visited indonesia better choose other airlines such as Garuda or Citilink.

Lucky Draw for your baggage

This airline lets everyone buy their baggage weight until it's overweight (So money-hungry), and the solution was to randomly offload passengers' baggage and leave it at Taoyuan Airport without noticing passengers. Also, the flight crew didn't cooperate with their lost and found department at Donmuang Airport. Furthermore, this flight crew let passengers of around 30-40 people look at the luggage conveyor belt for nothing for around 20 minutes.
We get the luggage back the next day after 12 hours, but the best part is here - NO COMPENSATION POLICY even though you have bought baggage weight from them.
NO MORE THAI LION AIR.

Airlines to avoid if possible

This airline does not generally notify you of cancellations or delays. If there are other LCCs on the same route, you should choose those. The worst part is that they don't even notify the booking site, which keeps the flight running on schedule, so you may not notice until the day of the flight. The reservation system is also too stupid. The planes are in such bad condition that just getting on is unsettling. Super Air Jet and Batik Air are in the same group, so they are all terrible. It may be okay for locals, but I would never recommend this to foreigners. It is really stressful to negotiate refunds when there is a problem.
