I recommend using US based airlines instead.

Long story short, The plane was at the gate for 2 hours before boarding. Once boarded, we waited in the hot plane with no air circulating (no A/C) for over an hour. Then the decision was made to de-ice the plane. Then we were told the A/C can’t be turned on due to the de-icing procedure. After de-icing, the air was still not circulating. Right after that, we went back to the gate for technical problems. Currently three hours later, we’re still stuck on the hot plane completely soaked in sweat.

Denied boarding without any explanation

I had an extremely disappointing experience with Austrian Airlines, as they denied me boarding without providing any valid explanation. As a loyal customer with a long history of problem-free flights, I was shocked by this treatment. I was travelling home via Vienna on a transit flight. I do not require a visa to enter the EU or the Schengen area, and all my travel documents were valid. In fact, the border police confirmed that I was allowed to enter the transit airport. Despite this, Austrian Airlines refused to let me board, shifting the blame onto the Austrian border police. However, the border authorities stated that the decision was entirely the airline’s responsibility. When I pointed this out and requested clarification, my complaint was simply ignored. Such unprofessional and arbitrary treatment is unacceptable. I expected much better from Austrian Airlines, and this experience has severely undermined my trust in the airline.

Smooth flight.....

Tirana - ViennaEurope

We recently flew business class from Tirana to Vienna. It was a smooth flight but during check-in we forgot to request Row 1 - shame as it has so much more leg room. Nevertheless, the cabin was not full and I was able to shift seats to Row 3 as I initially ended up behind the bloke in row 1 who reeked of cigarettes and heaven knows what else - it was intolerable. Suspect that seat will never be the same. The boarding was completed promptly, we took off on time and landed a bit early. A pleasant flight all round and the meal was enjoyable. We had sparkling wine, warm rolls, smoked salmon on salad, strudel for dessert followed by an excellent cappuccino and chocolates. The head flight attendant in our cabin was (I think) Kathleen (tall, slim, short dark hair) and she did a fabulous job looking after us. There was one particularly insistent bloke from Economy who wanted to stow not 1 but 2 bags in the business overhead lockers, he was sent packing initially, but sneaked back and did end up with a bag in the business section. He also tried to pop forward to use the business toilet - but was sent back again. We think it is great when the staff manage entitled troublemakers like this. This plane was in 2+2 configuration and each seat in the business cabin keeps an empty seat next to it. It’s only ‘intra-europe’ business - but did the job well.

Four months on, no compensation for baggage

I filed a compensation claim with you four months ago for the damage caused to my baggage and provided all the documents. Today I finally receive an email offering a compensation way below the costs that I incurred, despite all the receipts that I submitted. There is not a single human employee available to talk and all communications go through an incompetent email service. To say this is a terrible customer service would be a real understatement.

Scam airline

The airline with the worst service ever. My flight was delayed by more than 12 hours yet you dont want to refund the basic amount of a night at the airport's hotel, even though your representative at the airline desk told us we will get the refund and shouldn't be worried. very disappointing. We heard they have great costumer service but it seems like a scam airline.
