I had an utterly frustrating experience traveling for work with Aegean Airlines from Cyprus to Bologna via Athens.
The issues began when staff insisted on taking my carry-on luggage due to limited space, assuring me that it would arrive at my final destination on time. Not only did the luggage fail to arrive, but I was also given false information about its delivery. I was told it would reach me the same day via Istanbul, yet it never did.
This left me waiting in Bologna for 11 hours, for my luggage that never came, instead of traveling to my final destination 2.5 hours away. Adding to the exhaustion, Aegean representatives insisted that I am the one responsible to contact the Bologna Airport's lost and found department to arrange the return of my luggage, which has been completely unresponsive.
Five days later, I am still without my luggage. This experience was physically and mentally draining, completely unacceptable, and has disrupted my travel plans.
