Great authentic family holiday home with splendid view
A nice swimming pool with a splendid view on the hills. The house has a lot of charm and is equipped with everything you need. We've spend 10 days with our family of 5 and loved every day. Great BBQ as well.

nice view and a lot of silence.
It is a place, where you can enjoy nature and have a fantastic view. You are far away from everything, and as family you can enjoy the time by the pool or in the veranda.

Privatly and lovely
Rustico Brunello is a cozy and nice house. It is as the name says rustic but with various modern conveniences available. The pool is nice and clean, and in the pizza oven you can make the most amazing pizzas. The house is completely secluded on a hillside in the forest and the view of the valley are stunning. The wildlife is diverse and you meet lizards, wild boar, fireflies and scorpions. We have enjoyed the stay and will definitely be back.

A lovely, peaceful family holiday
We stayed at Rustico Brunello for the last two weeks of August 2016. We were a party of 7, 4 adults, 2 teenagers and a 9 year old. We had a wonderful, relaxing holiday. The property is in a lovely position and views from every window are stunning. The swimming pool was lovely, quite cold but the children loved it! Again wonderful views whilst just sitting by the pool. Brunello, the owner popped to the house every couple of days to clean the pool and was very helpful throughout our holiday if we needed help or advice. The garden is tiered and large with lots of fruit trees. The house itself is very spacious and is decorated in a rustic style, not to everyone's taste I'm sure but we liked the traditional style. The bedrooms were roomy and there were 2 bathrooms which was very useful. The house was very well equipped and had everything we could have possibly needed. There was some dust and a few cobwebs throughout the house but for us that wasn't a deal breaker. We came across a few little scorpions but they were no problem and we removed them from the house as we were advised too. The house is a little off the beaten track and generally you have to drive everywhere. We quite like to walk to a shop, supermarket, bar or restaurant but that wasn't really possible. We got round that by picking up supplies on our way home from our trips out and we used the bbq a few times. It was all so easy. You could go for a walk near the property but it was more like a nature trail and decent footwear is recommended, so only having flip flops was a mistake I won't make again! Whilst there we visited Pisa, Lucca, Barga, Massa and Maranello to name a few. There are so many lovely places to visit I could go on and on but this review is already long enough!! We did some lovely wine tasting at Cantina Bravi which was a quick drive from the house. All in all we had a lovely time, the area was beautiful, the weather was amazing. I would recommend Rustico Brunello if you want a peaceful and relaxing holiday away from all the hustle and bustle. Being off the beaten track really worked for us and I wouldn't hesitate to go back. We booked this holiday through Tuscan Retreats and they are truly excellent. Nothing is too much trouble and they are helpful and efficient.

Lovely house in a beautiful location
Great house in the mountains, lovely pool with amazing views. Fully equiped kitchen, washing machine and a wood fired oven in the garden. Lots to see and do in the area, Orecchiella Park, Lucca, Viareggio. We'd love to go back for a third visit.

Beautiful and peaceful
Just returned from a very restful stay at this beautiful house. There are 4 good sized bedrooms and 2 spacious bathrooms. Excellent outside space and well maintained pool. Not a lot of space to sit inside but we were blessed with excellent weather so this didn't concern us. We were a party of 5 adults and 2 teenagers and house was comfortable for us all. The owner was helpful and attentive without being intrusive. He came a few times to water and clear gardens and to clean/top up pool....and even brought a welcome good bottle of wine If you want a peaceful and beautiful location this is a brilliant place ( the pictures do not do it justice) it is however a good hour from Lucca and 1.5 from Pisa or Florence so if you plan to do lots of sightseeing may be a bit far out. We would recommend and would return

Remote, restful, relaxing.
We suspected this house would be on its own and a wee bit removed from civilisation but although it was along a rough track it is actually only a five minute drive from the nearest village and shop and 15 mins to the nearest main road heading into town. the location gives good access to the mountains but bear in mind it is 30 - 40 mins away from Barga/Catelnuovoa and Lucca. Easy driving on good roads though. The villa itself sits on a hillside and overlooks a wee fish farm and across a small valley to the hamlet of Magnano Spli level gardens with the lower one having a good sized pool. The covered terrace outside the house is wonderful surrounded by flowers and with southerly views down into the valley. The outside also boasts a loggia complete with BBQ and a wood fired oven ( makes superb bread and roasts !) The interior of the house has a somewhat individual style - think elderly granny who doesn't get out much - but is fine for all that. Comfortable enough sitting area with large table, seperate dining room, three decent bedrooms and a relatively small but well equipped kitchen. Two bathrooms and thats you ready for a very relaxing holiday. This villa wasn't our first choice ( original booking let us down badly !!) but we couldn't have enjoyed ourselves any more than we did at this rental. Its not super duper luxury, its not on the main tourist trail, its not next door to any great attractions - save for mountains and wonderful scenery - but it is comfortable, has everything you need for a pleasant stay and it has peace, perfect peace in abundance - bliss.
