The Reef Dancer is a glass-bottom boat tour operating out of Slip 6 in the Lahaina harbor.  The Reef Dancer claims to have the best reef viewing tour on Maui because "Fish, Coral, even octopus prefer shallow water with lots of light -- the deeper you go the less there is to see."  The Reef Dancer only takes up to 34 passengers on each tour so everyone has a window seat.  The Reef Dancer is air conditioned and offers drinking water on board.

The Reef Dancer has two tours:

  • One hour tours leave at 10:00AM, 11:15AM and 1:00PM and are $34.95/adults, kids 6-12 or $18.95 and children under 6 are free.
  • There is a second 90 minute tour that includes a second site to view turtles that leaves at 2:15PM that serves refreshments and costs $44.95/adults, kids 6-12 are $24.95 and children under 6 are free.

The view of Lahaina and the West Maui Mountains from this trip   is worth the price.

You can usually find free parking by the Lahaina tennis courts on the side street.  There is no parking in Lahaina Harbor and parking violations are a criminal offence with a mandatory court appearance.  So do not park or use the loading zone  at ocean level.  There is one handicapped parking spot by the fort ruins so bring your handicapped placard.
