Fira, being the capital of Santorini, is an active city full of opportunities for tourists. For starters, Fira is a shopping paradise. The city is full of shops carrying all sorts of Greek specialties, food and wine, jewelry, and clothing. There are many restaurants and bars in the area, festive or relaxing, both environements coexist well in Fira. Simply walking around the city will provide a great base of entertainment value as the dramatic cliffs it is built on, the white-washed buildings against the backdrop of the bright blue sea will keep you walking around in awe and taking a lot of pictures.

The main square is called Plateia Theotokopoulou and is surrounded by tourists shops and restaurants. Nearby you can visit the famous blue-dome churches. To get up or down around the steep incline from sea level and the Port Athinio, you can either take a donkey ride, a cable car, or of course walk or drive.

Fira also has an open air theater that makes for a great night activity.
