While the ecomony has claimed the Adirondack Craft Center, there are many new  Fine Art galleries now open in Lake Placid.  Ensure you take the time to visit:
  • A Point of View Galleryrun by premier Adirondack Photographer Rolf Schulte on Rt 73 just out side of town. Beautiful photography and interesting crafts done by Artcetera, Ed and Kate Coleman, Houston Llew, Wayne Village Pottery..to name a few.  Hand crafted framing available as well as large format printing on a wide variety of papers.
  • Guy Brewster Huges Art Gallery:  Located within the Lake Placid Library on Main St.  features local artists past and present.
  • Main St. Artisans:  Beautiful shop on Main St. run by a group of diversified artists and craftspeople.  Prints and paintings, jewelry, burlwood sculptures, adirondack funiture and more available in a small but extrememly elegant venue.
  • 511 Gallery: Located on Main St A formal art gallery worthy of any big city.  High end artwork from everywhere.  Affiliated with the 511 Gallery in New York City.
  • The "V"  Gallery :  At the end of  Main St, across from the High Peaks Resort.  More local artists including the very popular Tim Fortune.
  • Lake Placid Artist's League: On Saranac Ave (the continuation of Main St.) Above the Caribou Coffe Co.  (Grab a great cuppa - then climb the stairs)  Local artists - Joe Capozio, Stevie, Nip Rogers, Louis Patenelli, Italo Clemente, Linda Sweeney. Jackie Altman, Abigail McKay, Ingrid Van Slyke, and Naj Wykoff.
  • Moon Tree Designs -  On Main St . The most beautiful gallery in the area which carries over 300 American craftsman. They have been located in Lake Placid for 19 years. A visual delight!

So there you have it!  Lake Placid is now an Art Mecca! with no less than 7(!) Galleries for your viewing and shopping pleasure.
