Probably the most frequent question asked is about the best time to visit to see the leaves turn.  As you may imagine, this changes from year to year, is different north to south and is also different at various elevations.  The trees don't turn at the same time even next to each other.

Peak color is defined as 70% of the leaves changing color.  When you visit in the fall, it will be lovely even if it is not peak.  There is a beauty to be found post peak.  The key is not to agonize and plan your vacation as best you can.  Understand you won't be alone especially if you don't get out of the car.  The Kanc will be crowded on weekends especially.  A good rain storm will cause the best leaves to be on the ground.

Here are websites with information about forecasting peak foliage.  Good Luck!!!
