When in Mysore do visit this temple which is only 10 kms from the city. Take the road which leads to Nanjangud, after the Ganapati ashram there is a left turn to go to the village Uttanahalli where this temple is located. You can ask for directions. It’s on a small hillock and the view from above is worth the small climb. There are regular buses from the city bus stand to this village, driving along is also a pleasure roads are good.

This is a less known temple to many . It seems this god was so powerful that the kings used to visit this temple before going to any war and take godess's blessings.

This godess is supposed to be the younger sister of goddess Chamundeswari. That's according to Hindu mythology.

There are no hotels here, just some small stalls which sell flowers, puja items, tender coconut etc. Early mornings are the best time to visit this temple. The drive is worth and blessings from the goddess unlimited.
