Fortaleza is gifted with year-long tropical, beach climate. In the summer from November to April, there are hot and humid days. In the winter, the weather is pleasant and calm; it never gets very cold. Throughout the year, the temperatures remain from between 75 and 90 degrees. Fortaleza has a rainy season from December until April which can be quite heavy at times. Since the beach culture is very prominent in Fortaleza, tourists should be careful to wear sunscreen and a hat since the sun can be very strong, particularly during the summer .

 

The ideal time to visit would be between May and November when rain is unlikely. There are peak times such a New Year, Carnival and school holidays (July) when it may be difficult to find accomodation if you do not book well in advance. Fortaleza is a key holiday destination for the domestic market and during this time, the prices for hotels can be more expensive and in general, the beaches and roads are more crowded. Of course, this also means that the parties are wilder.
