The climate in Kunming, China is warm and comfortable throughout the year. Temperatures never get too hot, nor do they get too cold.   The city has even been given the nickname “The Forever Spring City.”   With all of this however, certain months can be more comfortable to visit during than others

            On average, the hottest months of the year are June and July, during which time the daily high temperatures will generally hover in the mid to upper 70’s.  The nighttime temperatures during these months will generally drop to the mid to lower 60’s.  This time of year is however the most rainy as well.  From the beginning of June through the end of August, it will rain an average of 6 – 8 inches per month. 

            The months from November through April are the driest of the year, during which time Kunming receive less than an inch of rain per month.   

            The coldest months of the year on average are December and January, during which time the daily high temperatures will reach the upper 50’s and lower 60’s.  The nighttime temperatures during these months will generally drop to the mid to lower 30’s.
