The temperature in Kanchanburi tends to be quite warm all throughout the year.  There is not much of a winter season at all.  The average low temperature even in the coldest months of the year is close to seventy degrees which can feel quite warm for nighttime weather.  The average high temperature during the coldest months is in the eighties.  During the hottest months of the year, the average temperature climbs in to the hundreds.

For this reason, travelers tend to plan their trips to Kanchanburi around the rain of the area rather than the temperatures there.  The best time of the year to head to the area to avoid the rain is during the winter months.  Combined with the slightly cooler daytime temperatures, this makes the months of December through March the busiest travel months in the area.

The rainy season begins in April, although April tends to only experience about eight inches of rain.  The monthly rainfall jumps up to over fifteen inches in the month of May.  The heaviest rains come to the area in September and October; during those two months, the area experiences nearly sixty inches of rainfall.
