Skopje seasons are real: winters dip into the twenties and summers break into the eighties.  Still, the extremes are not so extreme but rather habitable; springs are long and summer nights are not too rough.

The capital’s schedule of events is intertwined with that of its fine arts scene , as musical and theatrical celebrations abound.  The Days of Macedonian Music in March, for example, sees a local fusion of orchestral and symphonic talent and strength, while the Off-Fest of July kicks off a greater Jubilee Festival of Blues and African rhythms.

The Skopje Fair May Opera Evenings Festival overflows with the genre’s finest, supplemented by exquisite ballet performances, aria solos, and orchestral achievements.

Finally, the month long Skopje Summer Fest, starting in late June and carrying through to the end of July, is a celebration of local advancements in culture, the arts, and literature.
