Central America, Managua's region, is located in a tropical zone. This being the case, the average temperature and amount of sunlight in Managua generally vary very little, if at all, throughout the year. The average daytime temperature in the city is quite warm, in the mid to high 90's, while the low temperatures average in the 80's. The humidity is the city also tends to be very high. Managua does have a rainy season from June through October, though it rains in smaller amounts for the remainder of the year. The average June rainfall in Managua is almost 300 centimeters, while in December rainfall only averages around ten centimeters.
People come to Managua at all times of year, especially for purposes of business because it is the country's capitol city. Managua is also popular with foreign exchange students who come to its universities to learn Spanish.
