The weather in Chisinau is Continental, which means that the city experiences hot and dry summers, and cold winters. Although it can be visited throughout the year, certain months can be much more comfortable than others.
Summers in Chisinau are very nice, as temperatures are generally mild. On average, the hottest months of the year are July and August, during which time the daily high temperatures will generally hover in the upper 70’s and lower 80’s. The nighttime temperatures during these months will generally drop to the upper 50’s and lower 60’s. The months of July and August are generally the busiest months for tourism.
Winters in Chisinau are rather cold. The coldest months of the year on average are January and February, during which time the daily high temperatures will reach only the lower 30’s. The nighttime temperatures during these months will generally drop to the lower 20’s.
Chisinau receives a fair amount of precipitation throughout the year, but on average, the wettest months of the year are June and July. The winter months are usually drier than the summer, but snow does often fall.
