Asmara, located in the African nation of Eritrea, has, because of its latitude, a fairly constant climate year round.  The weather in the city is relatively warm during all months of the year, getting slightly warmer in the summer months and slightly cooler during the winters.  The average summer temperature in Asmara (during June and July, its warmest season) is near 100 degrees F.  During the fall the temperature in the city drops slightly, into the 80's and 90's during the day, and down into the 70's at night.  Asmara's winter temperatures average in the high 70's to low 80's.

Asmara also has both "wet" and dry seasons (even during the "wet" season, the city is still very dry).  During the months of December through February the city gets an average of 0.10 inches a rain per month, receiving almost no rain at all for the remainder of the calendar year.

Visitors come to the city during all months of the year, but the best time to come, as far as the weather is concerned, is most likely during the winter, as the temperatures are much cooler and more comfortable and the air is slightly less dry.
