Pisa (along with its neighbor, Florence) enjoys a Mediterranean-style climate.  This translates into warm, dry summers; cold and damp weather in the winter.

The hottest months are June though September, when temperatures range from 17 degrees C (62 degrees F) to a high of 30 degrees C (85 degrees F).  Humidity during this time can reach as high as 70 percent.

Bring your raincoat and umbrella if you plan on visiting between September and December.  The heaviest rainfall is during October and November, when precipitation can exceed 15 inches each month.

From November to February, temperatures range from 3 degrees C (37 degrees F) up to 16 degrees C (61 degrees F).  Although the weather can be unpredictable at times, most days are sunny with fog rolling in from time to time. Expect occasional heavy rains and icy winds, so it’s best to bring along a warm coat and gloves.

The best time of year to visit is during spring and autumn, when the temperatures are pleasant (and less crowds) for sightseeing.  It is best to avoid July and August (if you can), since temperatures can get quite hot (and crowded) for sightseeing.
