The weather in Vezelay is generally mild in the summer and cold in the winter.  There is always a chance for precipitation throughout the year, so don’t forget to bring a rain-coat or umbrella.  Although it can be visited throughout the year, certain months can be much more for being outdoors than others.   

            The summer months in Vezelay are quite nice, with warm temperatures and lots of sunshine (and rain).  On average, the hottest months of the year are July and August, during which time the daily high temperatures will generally hover in the upper 70’s and 80’s.  The nighttime temperatures during these months will generally drop to the mid to upper 50’s.  This is the time of year when most tourists come through Vezelay. 

            Winters in Vezelay are generally mild, but on (rare) occasions snow will fall.  The coldest months of the year on average are January and February, during which time the daily high temperatures will reach the low to mid 40’s.  The nighttime temperatures during these months will generally drop to the freezing range. 

            Although there is a chance for precipitation during any time of year, the months of October and November are generally the wettest.
