The slopes of Bein Eighe to the left of the road from Kinlochewe to Gairloch, as scenic as any main road in Scotland stii have areas of the Caledonian pine forest that once covered most of that country. There is a nature trail, which is relatively easy to walk, although if you are fit you will be drawn to the higher slopes as well.
The forest contains some of the rarer mammals of the UK such as wild cat, pine marten and polecat as well as cpaercaillie and crossbill. There is a good chance of seeing a golden eagle overhead.
