Oregon Coast Holiday Rentals

The Oregon Coast offers scenery, lakes and reservoirs as well as endless stretches of beach on the Pacific Coast. Whether you are interested in wildlife or boating, clam digging or surfing, it has so much to offer. Rather than booking pricey hotel rooms, have you considered self-catering accommodation? You might decide on a beachfront villa or a spacious apartment with a fully equipped kitchen. You and your family will be able to relax and have the freedom to organise your time exactly as you wish.

Oregon Coast attractions

When you have had your fill of sunbathing on the beach, you might enjoy hiking at Drift Creek Falls, Cape Lookout or Cannon Beach. There is no shortage of golf courses on the Oregon Coast: try Gearhart Golf Links, Alderbrook Golf Course or Seaside Golf Club. For a cruise on the ocean, head for Marine Discovery Tours, Newport; there will be a naturalist on board to point out the sealife, including seabirds. Don't miss a visit to one of the seven lighthouses open to the public. The Cape Meares Lighthouse is at a scenic viewpoint where picnics are allowed; many birds nest there and you can follow a hiking trail.

No matter what time of year you visit the Oregon Coast, there are opportunities for whale watching, for example at the Whale Watching Center in Depoe Bay. Music lovers will delight in Oregon Coast's ten annual music festivals, such as Jazz at Newport or the Sounds of Christmas in Coos Bay. Still not satisfied? Why not take a tour of the Flying Dutchman Winery at Otter Rock with its Pacific views, or the Seven Brides Brewery in Silverton.

Oregon Coast holiday rentals for families

The most obvious attraction on the Oregon Coast is the beach, for endless hours of building sandcastles, crabbing and picnicking. Broadway Avenue at Seaside has arcades, bumper cars, gift shops and even helicopter rides; at the Seaside Aquarium you can feed the seals. Don't miss the Prehistoric Gardens in Port Orford where life-size dinosaur models lurk amongst enormous trees and ferns. Why not take the lift at Sea Lion Caves in Florence, down into the huge cave which is home to dozens of wild Stellar sea lions? At the Columbia River Maritime Museum, Astoria, children can learn about shipwrecks and tugboats while you admire the views of the Columbia River flowing into the Pacific Ocean.
