There are very few cottages with a lakeview. Inspite of repeated reminders before arrival, the reception staff had no record of our request to give our two families cottages with lake views. Fortunately our cottages were near the reception area and we were spared from testing our amateur mountain climbing skills that some others guests, many rather pot-bellied, had to painfully demonstrate to get to their food. The pool is for the brochures. How can you possibly have a pool in a hill station without any heating? The food is average and I suspect caters to the largely chole bhature, manchurain noodle loving folks with big wallets and tummies to match. The electricity kept playing hide and seek through out our stay. Maintenence had to be called in a number of times to repair basic stuff in the cottages. The property is showing it's age. The manager was on vacation and his back up absent. So there was really no one in charge. The staff are diligent but poorly trained.
The only redeeming feature other than the lovely location, beautiful weather and clear skies was the fireplace. The charges to bring the it to life were extra but well worth.
If you are thinking of staying in this resort, I suggest you practice yoga in advance. It will give you both the physical fitness and patience that you will need in abundance if you are looking to enjoy your vacation. Good luck!
