We stayed at the Swiss Miramontes for three nights. The hotel is located very conveniently between the Santa Elena and Monteverde Reserves.
We stayed in a standard room, which was basic but adequately equipped, but a little dark and dingy. It smelled weird, too, we never figured out where the smell came from. The more expensive chalets in the garden looked much nicer. Our room had access to the wireless internet that is complimentary at the hotel.
The owners were helpful with information about the area. The check-in was extremely brief, with the host more or less putting the keys in our hands and leaving, but he may have been busy with other guests. The hostess was more communicative and generally kind, but somehow made us feel a bit bad for not having dinner in her restaurant. The dinner is fairly pricey, and there are cheaper and equally good choices down in the village, although the Roesti and from what we heard other guests say also the Strudel are specialties that should not be missed. We did have the breakfast, which was good.
