I have been wanting to try to stay in a castle and I am glad that I have chosen chateau d'Esclimont, it is a real fairy tale castle for me. I arrived late at night, slight delay with pick up arrangement but it is ok...I entered and love the room...it is exactly what I have expected and I love it. We had early morning breakfast and have the whole breakfast room to ourselves, it is again an enchanting room with great choices of breakfast and great view...

We went out and took pictures of the chateau and we couldnot stop taking picture...it is enchanting...wish we could have longer time here...

Just want to comment that the receptionist are all helpful, from beginning of my reservation till the end...

Location is a bit far if you don't have a car and taxi is quite expensive...but overall I would still come back and would recommend it to all...

About an hour’s drive from Paris CdG, the Castle of Esclimont is ideally situated as an overnight venue when arriving or departing from Charles de Gaulle - or as a stop on the way from Paris to Orleans or the attractions of the Loire. Framed by rural countryside but just minutes from the auto route, this relic of the age of the Bourbon kings, awaits to be discovered. Set in a large park and offering conference facilities and a large outdoor swimming pool – Esclimont will enchant. The bedrooms are furnished with antiques and the gracious dining rooms belong to Age of Elegance. A walk in the park will long be remembered. This is a lovely castle - well worth a look.

This 16th century castle is magnificent!!
We go every year to thé cocktail, concert and dinner organized by "les grandes etapes" at the Castle. We don't spend the night there anymore because the rooms need renovation and the bathrooms are old. We now prefer to drive 20 km to stay overnight in Chartres at the very nice Ibis near the cathedral. But after the terrible dinner (80 euros!) on November 19, 2011 following a lovely concert we will no longer even stay for the dinner in the future. I strongly suggest a stop for a quick light lunch or a drink, tea at the bar and a walk around the grounds before moving onto Chartres. But DDO NOT HAVE THE EXPENSIVE BAD DINNER AND DO NOT STAY OVERNIGHT THERE!!
. The staff is not helpful or friendly. The restaurant is not gastronomic and the service is by young students for whom this is a non paying internship program! Ok people have to learn somewhere but the service is awful!! What a shame

We stayed here at the recommendation of the bride's family when we attended a wedding in Chartres. The minute we drove into the forecourt, we were blown away - what a beautiful property. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was large and lovely. We didn't eat in the restaurant other than the breakfast which was elegant. The hotel grounds were absolutely amazing. The gardens went on and on. When my husband had to leave early, the front desk were very efficient in arranging a taxi to take him back to Charles de Gaule.
