My wife and I stayed in thishotel on October 3 2009. The price was
80 euro BB.
Since we had to leave early in the morning I paid the bill on the
evening of the 3rd. I have to add that we were greeted by a nice
gentleman in reception, and later by a nice lady, both spoke fluent
English and were extremely nice and helpful (I think they were
British).
We were asked if we would like one bed or twins, and requested one. We
received a small room which seemed to be prepared for one person (the
pillows were centered on a narrow bed and we had to ask at reception
for extra towels).
In the morning (October 4th), after breakfast, we were leaving the
hotel when a receptionist we hadn’t seen the night before (Mauricio?)
accused me of not paying for the breakfast.
I explained to him that I had already paid the night before, for the
room and for the breakfast. However, since we were running late to the
airport I didn't have time to find the receipt and ended up paying 20
euro extra. Needless to say the experience left us embarrassed of being accused of
"stealing" breakfast. I later on sent a scan of both receipts. Eventually, following several communications regarding a refund I stopped hearing back from them and have yet to recieve my money back.
Since the hotel is a Bed and Breakfast, one would pay for both and it is unlikely that you would be charged seperately which makes this mistake very odd. I am therefore under the impression that this might be a sort of tourist scam by some of the employees of the hotel.
This obviously gave a bitter ending to an otherwise enjoyable trip.
