Highly recommended to us by an old friend & a local of Potenza Picena. We were an American couple traveling with our 2 small children (ages 3 & 1), & La Famiglia Torresi made our family feel at home! We speak Italian, but Francesco did speak English with us. Many of the delicious breakfast pastries are homemade by his mother. Definitely our favorite breakfast of the 4 hotels we stayed at during our 2 week trip. A generous variety of sweet & savory treats, and Italian caffe' to order! Our room was comfortable (premium bed linens & soft towels), very clean, surprisingly spacious by European standards, and had a great view of the surrounding countryside & the hilltop city of Potenza Picena. The free(!), in-room internet service & speedy dry cleaning/ laundry service were great resources for the business side of our trip. Le Marche, overshadowed by nearby Toscana, is not known as a tourist destination, but we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves in this beautiful region with its mixture of coastal & hillside sights. Cities we visited using Hotel Torresi as our home base: Loreto, Porto Recanati, Fano, Urbino & San Leo. We even got to visit another country: The Republic of San Marino. Someday, we hope to return to Le Marche to dine on the elusive "vincigrassi," and we will certainly look forward to staying at Hotel Torresi again!
