Stayed here late September we booked our flight and the hotel through Easy Jet.com. First impressions were that the Hotel was ok, reception staff very friendly and informative. Board basis was B&B, breakfast was rubbish, plenty of it but most of it inedible, cold eggs and bacon, croissants and buns ok if you like that sort of thing, forget the coffee and juice YUK. Never ate there on an evening.
The main road outside, which you need to cross if walking into Santa Pola, is extremely dangerous. I’ve read reviews about the shuttle bus; we never saw it, walked into town everyday, taxi back, walking up the hill was too much, a car hire car would be the answer. Outside pool closed probably because the weather wasn’t great. Spa facilities reasonable but a bit pricey; you must wear a bathing cap (3 euro) and admission is 5 euro.
We asked to keep our room as we had a late flight back. We were charged 25 euro, but it was worth it.

Overall not great, would suit people who are driving to southern Spain and needed a night's stop over.

JM Santa Pola is a good 3* hotel understaffed & poorly maintained. Good reception, clean rooms, food was consistently cold. More importantly the hotel is located on the outskirts of town on the wrong side of the main Highway from Alicante heading south. This is a busy main road with no public crossing points and no pathways on either side, it is positively dangerous to attempt to cross this road. I asked the hotel director about this and was informed the problem was the governments not the hotels. I was also corrected regarding the 3* rating and told this was a cheap 3* hotel and guests get what they pay for, judge for yourself?

We stayed here for a night after a late flight into Alicante airport. Hotel was very easy to find being right on the side of the Alicante/Cartagena road. Very pleasant check-in - they speak great English! Rooms big with nice balcony, but paper-thin walls so you may or may not get much sleep depending on how late others stay up.

Overall we were really pleased for an overnight stay. Probably wouldn't stay here for a holiday as it is on a main road and not much else in the immediate area. Handy for Hypermarket and MacDonalds though.

We had a fantastic holiday, stayed for five nights and enjoyed it a lot. As a lot of people wrote before the location isn't great with out a car, so we hired one. There is Euroski supermarket around the corner and just another 200yrds is a McDonalds. The rooms were spacious with great views of the sea and also the surrounding area. We ate in the restaurnet for breakfast and dinner on the first night. Dinner is a buffet and is full of seafood. The pool area is fab lots of sun loungers and also handy to the the bar.
Never tried the spa facilities as it was great weather the whole time and we preferred being outside.
Irish Pub opens after 10pm most nights and when having a drink, they don't measure spirits so you get great value drinks
