“Overprized Hotel”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

Starting with the good things: The rooms are ok (but not more) and clean, which at least is one of the most important.

And now the worse:
- corridor, staircase quite old and need renovation.
- Never seen a worse TV Quality in the last years
- No gym, inside pool, wellness
- Breakfast 15€!!!! (so not included), general quality ok, but small assortment. Only scrambled eggs, really artificial and bad.
- Surrounding bad, so no recommendation for families or tourist, only business should be ok
- A wakeup call has been missed

Summary: The room price of average 150€ is MUCH too expensive for what will delivered, even it does not contain the breakfast.

“Poor services”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 December 2011 via mobile

Hello,
I've stayed 11 nights here and the overall opinion is that the hotel services are poor.

1. The receptionits are beginners or trainee or something (I had to ask for 4 times 3 differrent persons about my breakfast is included and I get 3 diff answers)

2. Ther rooms have a weird smell, WC is outside the bath like a separate room :)

3. Definitely not a 4**** star hotel

Thanks!

“Nice garden with playground for children (summertime)”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 December 2011

Hotel (motel, good parking space) in business park, close to my company office (business meetings). Full breakfast expensive but light breakfast available. To go to Paris walk about 10 min to train station and ensure to take fast train to Paris (about 20 min). Room a bit too cold as heating did not work (not switched on yet, nov). Hotel restaurant not so good (food and price). Good french restaurant on "opposite side" of train station.

Room Tip: Ask for room on minimum 2nd floor (ground floor no view)

“Overpriced hotel and Staff with Attitudes”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 October 2011

I have stayed at this hotel before, 2 and a half years ago for 2 weeks on a business trip. My previous experience in the hotel was average, although due to the location (a business park) I really did not want to revisit this hotel again as there is very little going on in the area in the evenings, and one must take the RER to Paris and return at an unsafe hour.

This trip at the Novotel was much shorter, and my experience with the hotel was much the same, clean room and ensuite, although the fittings and fixtures are beginning to show their age. When you look at the price of this hotel though it is apparent that they are overcharging for what is being provided, and if you look at the clientele you can understand why. The vast majority of the guests are on business trips, and therefore not personally paying for the hotel and therefore unlikely to care much in terms of getting value for money.

Eating in the restaurant had definitely improved since my last stay, particularly in terms of quality of the food. You should expect lengthy periods to wait when the restaurant is full, but once again this has improved since I stayed here last.

I had one experience with the staff which soured my experience greatly. In the foyer there was a coffee table set out for each of the companies having meetings on the premises. Our table was always missing something, whether sugar, coffee capsules, or in one case coffee cups. With no staff around and no obvious reason for the lack of cups I took one from the abundant supply on the table next to ours, and as if it tripped an alarm was instantly being ridiculed by the member of staff responsible for replacing the cups. Instead of receiving a 'sorry' for there being a lack of cups I was berated for my actions in front of my colleagues for this act of theft, which resulted in the offending cup being snatched from my grasp. I believe the staff members name was Brahmista, and this was not an isolated incident with many of my colleagues falling foul of his coffee table reign. This seemingly small incident was enough to question my staying at any novotel again, no staff member should ever embarrass and ridicule a guest at their hotel!

Fortunately my company is moving its HQ and I will never have to visit this hotel again.

“Ideal for a base to sleep and eat but not much else”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 October 2011

The location is good for commuting into Paris but other than a few other hotels, there is nothing to do in Massy. Walking around early evening showed up a few characters who you probably wouldn't wish to meet after dark so staying in the hotel felt safer.

Checking out in the morning's was busy. Queued for 20minutes and they tried to charge me for a breakfast I never had or asked for.

The restaurant was pleasant with nice food but if staying for more than 2 nights the menu would begin to bore you.

The staff were friendly and happy to help. Would stay again on business but not for pleasure.
