We stayed for two nights at this hotel and, in my view, the owners have lost touch with reality. Although it is a rather shabby place, located in a run-down town, they seem to think that they are some five-star palace in the middle of some grand city. They actually advertise in the "Chateau and Hotels Collection", which in my view is a bit of a cheek. Everything about the hotel seems to be based on the standards of their cuisine, which may well be good but, in my view, far too expensive - with no budget options. Similarly, they offer spa treatments which are vastly overpriced.
My advice to the owners of this hotel is to take off the rose-tinted glasses; realise what and where you are, and get back to basics. Instead of concentrating on your dining room - invest in some much needed redecoration and refurbishment of your bedrooms.
