Just stayed with my wife in the Hotel Zarauz, Zarautz as we couldn't find accommodation in San Sebastian due to a Dragon boat festival weekend ... the old town was packed with supporters enjoying the tapas, wine and cider... 15 mins drive down the motorway and you're in Zarautz easy to find hotel, 2 streets from the sea.Good size bedroom all rooms decorated the same,v pleasant staff, well stocked bar and a free car park!! and cheap in comparison with San Sebastian. Stayed for 2 days just chillin on the beach.. heaven!! the town is a surprise as it is a delight with some lovely Basque Tabernas excellent Tapas and sea food and wonderful Spanish wine all very reasonably priced in comparison to their French Basque neighbours. Would definitely like to do a more detailed trip along that northern Spanish coast.

We stayed at Hotel Zarauz (hotel Zarautz) on our way from the south of Spain to Calais. The benefits of this hotel are many - dog friendly, free parking, centrally located, near the beach, free internet access. The hotel has all facilities, is clean and well maintained. Prices are very reasonable given the quality of the hotel.

Even in winter the rooms can get very warm. There is no air conditioning and the rooms at the front of the hotel can suffer from road noise. The ones at the back are a little quieter and it is possible to open a window.

We did not eat in the hotel this time, preferring to walk a couple of hundred yards into town and sample tapas in the many bars round the town square.

Dog owners should note that dogs are allowed on the beach out of the holiday season.

We were made very welcome at this well placed hotel. ..we were on a short tour of the wonderful Basque coast and countryside and were delighted with our choice of this hotel.The rooms were large, airy and spotlessly clean.
Breakfast was good and hearty. We will return

Very nice hotel situated outside San Sebastian had parking and very friendly and helpful staff. Communal areas to a very high standard, bedrooms very clean and spacious, they allowed our cats to spend the night in our room. Breakfast was good and worth the extra money
