This small hotel is located in a tiny village in the countryside about 20 minutes south of Carcassonne. The village also has a beautiful cloister, which can be visited.
The hotel is in a lovely old building, decorated with antique furniture in a quirky but beautiful style, and with modern art on the walls (part of a art exposition, I was told). The terrace out back is also welcoming and lovely, with potted plants and trees against the walls.
Our room, a triple on the top floor, was HUGE and wonderfully furnished. The bed (not just a cot) for our son was in a separate room (with a glass partition) from our double bed. The bed linens were very comfy! The bathroom and separate toilet were clean and attractive.
The best thing about this hotel are its hosts, a lovely couple. They were kind and welcoming from our arrival. Their kindness increased, however, when I became ill shortly before we were to eat dinner there (due to something I ate at lunch). They quickly whisked away my food, offered me pretty much anything (I tried plain noodles, but couldn't eat even that), then brought herbal tea up to me in our room. They were just as kind the next morning, when I felt better.
My son and husband, who did eat dinner there, said the food was delicious and well-prepared. (I wish I could have eaten it!)
