excellent landscape beautiful rooms tasty food and nice pub with very reasonable prices :) make sure you don't let your kids sleep on the couch because they won't be able to get a sleep, take another room for them

We were staying in paphos for 2 weeks and decided that we would go and stay at a 5 star hotel for one night - just to feel a little bit pampered and so glad we did! We got a special rate through my work and we thought...WHY NOT! It was about a 45 min drive from Paphos
Stayed at the hotel on 4th October 2011 and we actaually arrived at the hotel in the morning and when you arrive you have to get a pass to get into the Aphrodite Hills Complex. We couldn't check in till 2pm but we spent the morning driving into the beautiful complex which had stunning views and beautiful houses. And it has quite a big golf course (not into golf so couldn't tell you much about it)
When we came back to check in we were welcomed into the hotel and offered a welcome drink of water or soft drink, The check in was smooth and it did take a little bit longer as they explained all the features of the hotel but already i felt important to the hotel. The reception area is quite big and has a small shop for anything you have forgotten to take with you or to pick up a few gifts.
After check in we got escorted to our room and shown all the features of the room, while the lady was in showing us we took it all in but as soon as she left we turned into giggling tourist with...WOWs and OMGs!! The room was stunning and had a beautiful large bathroom with walk in shower and bath and even a telephone beside the toilet!!!
The bedroom had 2 large beds in it and we had a nice view of the golf course and the sea and we got complimentary water and a few apples in our room also.
After opening every cupboard and drawer in the room to have a good look about, our first stop had to be the pool. You get large 'pool' towels left in your room to use. The pool is on two levels with the larger pool having easy access into it. You can have a nice swim or laze about in it for a while. There is also plenty of sunbeds and also a pool bar which offers drinks & food.
After our laze by the pool topping up our suntan we went back to the room and enjoyed the piece and quite of our balcony, well you do get the odd buzz of a golf trolley going by!!
You get an invite to meet the management at the 'welcome drinks' get together on the balcony and they pick a great time to do it, just as the sun goes down and you get stunning views of the sunset. The manager and his staff made sure they came round and greeted everyone.
We decided to stay in the hotel for a meal and it was Asian Buffet night. And what a great selection you get. It is a eat as much as you like but there is so much on offer that you always come back with something different everytime. But all very yummy and very well cooked. They have different buffets every night of the week.
They usually have some sort of entertainment on in the courtyard area and the night we were ther it was ' We will rock you'. We didnt go but enjoyed the music from our balcony.
The breakfast had just as much selection as the buffet did the night before and is held in the same area. It was very nice too and there was also a chef on hand to make you fresh omlettes.
Check out time came and we had to depart but enjoyed our stay very much at the Intercontinental. There is a few people commenting about prices etc while staying here but you are at a 5 star top notch hotel so i expected the prices to be higher but you pay for quality and great quality is what you get at this hotel. Have to add on a special big thank you to Rena (Think that was her name) The reservations manager. I emailed her with a few questions and always got a very polite and friendly reply and she even managed to upgrade us to a sea view room without us asking. I brought her a small gift from Aberdeen as a thank you and she took the time to see us when we were departing and thank us in person for the gift. She said to let her know when we were returning...well we have booked our two weeks in Paphos for October 2012 and we will be back at Aphrodite Hill for our one day of pampering...just go to choose a date.
So to finish it off...if you want a day to feel like a celebrity and get great treatment, great food and great staff...pop along and book in this fab hotel...See you in October 2012!!!!!

We stayed there end of October. Being in Aphrodite hills there's ton of resort facilities around: Golf, Tennis (academy), horse riding etc etc.
Hotel itself has nice and spacious setup, rooms are very nice, spacious, clean, it really is 5 stars.
Also the weather that time of the year is quite nice.

Only downside was F&B: not all restaurants are open every day so you're limited in your options. In addition, we were traveling with 2 families and had 6 kids in total and as a result were ofter "put" in an area with the kids buffet that felt more like a banqueting room then a restaurant.

I dont know where the negative reviews come from. We are experienced travellers and have stayed in some of the really good hotels on all continents and the Intercontinental at Aphrodite Hills is as good as any we have stayed in. It is definitely a 5 star hotel. Fantastic staff, great food and clean and sparkling. There has been great thought put into the facilities. The children's playground is by far the best child facility I have ever seen anywhere in the world. Ok the drinks are expensive but if you stay in this quality of hotel you pays for what you get. Only gripe is cost of Internet in room but this is typical of hotels in Cyprus. Whether this is due to a lack of competition re providers one can only guess. Cyprus in general is 10 years behind even Asian hotels re Internet provision. We will definitely be back and thanks to all the management and staff for super service.
