“Quiet base to explore battlefields”

We stayed here for 2 nights in September and couldn't fault the room or service. Eric is an extremely helpful and friendly host, who was very willing to share his knowledge of the battlefields and assist with maps and directions. We had a room on the top level (Alcitepe?) with a wonderful view of the countryside and lovely balcony to sit and relax on. The room was spacious and very comfortable, with a clean and efficient bathroom. The tea/coffee making facilities and fridge in the room is a nice touch (not a common feature in the hotels in Turkey). The small surrounding village gives a real sense of being in rural Turkey, with the call to prayer from the local mosque very close! Would definitely stay here again as the best location for easy access to the battlefields.

Room Tip: Upstairs room has great views and balcony.

“The Gallipoli Houses”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 December 2011

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Gallipoli Houses in May 2011.
Our room was beautifully decorated and comfortable. The dining room was warm and inviting, and facilitated easy socialising with fellow guests. Eric and his lovely wife are delightful and well-informed hosts. I enjoyed the food and the relaxed atmosphere.
Our terrace had beautiful views of the sun setting above the ridges from where the Turkish army repulsed the Anzacs.
This is an ideal place to stay, within a rural setting, away from the town chaos, within easy reach of the battlefields.

“Perfect Gallipoli experience”

A fantastic base for exploring the peninsula. Lovely rooms, attentive staff and very good food and wine. Eric, the owner, was incredibly helpful in all aspects of our Gallipoli adventure.

“A delightful place from which to witness tragedy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 November 2011

A superb hostelry for those wanting to visit the Gallipoli peninsula to witness everything it represents. Wonderful hosts (Eric and Ozlem) run a very comfortable and relaxing half board basis home at a very reasonable price (Istanbul included).
Information available is second to none and all staff are very happy to assist when help is required. Food, drink, room and surroundings all a pleasure - many thanks guys.

“"A delightful retreat after tramping the battlefields all day"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 November 2011

We stayed one night and wished it had been longer. A drink in front of the fire before dinner, lots to read, a stylish room with a good bed and great duvet reminiscent of European hotels, good food and wine, a congenial host in Eric, WiFi, peaceful surroundings. This hotel is a find. I would certainly come back and stay 4-5 days and I already have recommended it to friends.

Room Tip: Our room was upstairs in the main building. It gave a good view over the villages and fields beyond...
