My husband I stay here for our honeymoon and it was great! We stayed in Hono Kai unit A16 which has a garden view and on the ground level. Many of units have garden view and we ended up preferring the garden view since the gardens are really lush, you more privacy on your lanai (those on the beach view end up with a view of people as well) and it's only ~20 feet to the beach (close enough we could hear the waves at night). The condo was nicely remodeled (new bathroom) with everything we could want/need for taking day trips (beach chairs, cooler) and cooking (blender, dishwasher, etc). We really liked the central location of Maalaea since it's so close to Kahului and Kihei but not busy and since Hono Kai is at the end of the road there is very little traffic on the road. There is a small swimming pool but we never used it - the beach and ocean were right there! The beach is great for walking (most of the other condos in Maalaea have sea walls instead of beach). We went swimming and snorkeling right in front of the condo, it wasn't the best snorkeling (Olowalu was our favorite place) but so convenient. We saw whales every day in the bay. We will definitely be going back!

We were there on our honeymoon and absolutely loved it. It has everything you could possibly need to cook and use on the beach (coolers, lay out stuff and more). Great central location to go to Lahina or the mountain. No air conditioning though but not really needed. Located on the bay so no beach directly in front of the condo but you would want to drive to other ones anyways to snorkel. Maui has great snorkeling everywhere. We would go back. You want to go between Dec.-April to see the whales.

This was a great condo for our family trip of 8 of us. We got 2 condos on the property- a 1bd w/loft & 2 baths, and a 2bd/2bth- and both were great. It was right on the beach with great snorkeling at a small reef & sandbar. It was 5 minutes from a shopping center and the Maui Ocean Center. I would definitely stay there again and have told all my friends.
