Great apartments. Cleaned daily and with nice pool and kids play area. Beach, restaurants and shops are about five minutes walk.
What made this place fantastic was the service. Free collection and drop off from the port by George followed by amazing hospitality from his wife Maria. On about the fifth day she presented us with a free cake. Another one came along two days later and then it was every day until our final day when we had drinks, lunch, cakes and even a local candle as a gift. Her English isn't great, but she is the nicest hotel owner I have ever met.
Naxos itself is a lovely island. The beaches are fantastic, the water clear and calm. There is a shipwreck you can snorkel over in Prokopios and a lovely restaurant at the far end of the beach. Agia Ana is 10 minutes walk away and has tavernas directly on the beach.
I would definitely recommend Naxos and the Colosseo to anyone with kids. We were tempted by the properties on the beach, but the bars and restaurants make it a bit noisier (this is by no means a party island though) and being just a couple of hundred metres back meant that cicadas where the noisiest thing.
The only downside is that the quickest way to the beach and town is across a causeway over salt lakes. This is perfectly OK, it's dry and solid and many cars drive across, but it is a bit "odd". You can go via road instead which takes a couple of minutes longer, but the salt lakes actually became quite fascinating and we almost always went this way.
If you need Internet, it's free, but you need a laptop with Windows as the wireless wouldn't work on phones (one's that normally use wi-fi) as you need to logon to a provider.
