“Beautiful Hotel on a Beautiful Island”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

Stayed at Kavos for five nights in mid August 2011, Travelling with my wife & two children aged 5 & 2. .

Prearranged transfers with Naxos Hotel Kavos, picked up & droped off with no problems.

The apartment we stayed in was fantanstic, comfortable, clean & well presented. Bathroom, master bedroom, lounge area and kitchen are decorated to a good standard.

Barbara and other staff were always helpful and made us feel welcome.

The grounds are very scenic and the gardens beautiful. The bar food & cocktails were really good. The pool was a nice size with a great view of the Island of Paros (I think).

Location - Secluded you will need a hire car.

Would I come back to Hotel Kavos..... of course I would. We had a truely wonderful time at Hotel Kavos and really enjoyed the island, there are some really great beaches, (Plaka, Agia Anna to name just a couple) and the old town Chora is just magical, with its temple of Apollo, the old castle, the mazes of the old market, lovely restuarants..... I could go on & on.

I have been to a few places in Greece over the years and Naxos is Special.

I hope you find this review helpful.

“Beautiful, restful and great food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 November 2011 via mobile

Stayed here for four days, got upgraded to the honeymoon suite and had a lovely restful stay. Room very comfortable, service very friendly but not intrusive. Food was delicious and cocktails were good too! Well located for a lovely beach. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

“A wonderful hotel experience!”

I recently stayed at Hotel Kavos for two weeks. Barbara went out of her way to make me feel welcome and cared for, the hospitality at this hotel is simply amongst the best I've ever experienced. The food is really good, I loved it so much that I ate at the hotel restaurant throughout my stay! Manos the chef is superb! I particularly enjoyed his moules in mustard sauce and prawn saganaki cooked with ouzo.
One of the really nice things about a stay at Kavos is breakfast I have found at so many hotels it is served between 7:00 and 10:00 am however at Kavos it is served between 8:30 and mid day I’m sure that if you wanted it later that would be OK it makes for a much more leisurely holiday.
The hotel has a laptop that allows free internet access for all guests, a very thoughtful gesture. The staff are so cheerful and seem to enjoy working being there, Sarah is the queen of cocktails (especially a Mai Tai) she always seems to be happy with a broad smile on her face.
The grounds and gardens are immaculate and lush The bougainvilleas are especially spectacular. The pool is an ‘infinity type’ and is so clean! It is wonderful a great deal of thought has clearly put into it.
Kavos is literally a 10 minute walk from the most beautiful beach with turquoise, crystal clear sea and white sand (although the sand is very course grained). It is a great swimming beach with life guards. There are sun loungers and sun shades for rent at €5 per day. This area of Naxos is quieter and more remote so it's perfect if you are looking to relax and have peace and quiet
Naxos is a great island it is less commercial and quieter than Mykonos and Santorini, although at this time of year it was a bit windy, but still very pleasant . Don’t be afraid to hire a car, traffic is so light (it cost me €16 per day to hire a car in October, cab fare to Chora is €10 each way so you would save €4 a day on return trips). Venture into the mountains and interior regions of the island There are spectacular twisty roads explore, other beaches and archeological sites to be seen.
I have made a previous stay at Kavos and will undoubtedly return

“Perfect Retreat”

This is a great hotel, ideally situated for privacy and seclusion, but only a short distance from the Naxos township. Barbara and her staff made us very welcome indeed, and were extremely helpful. A special mention must be made of Mirco, the most wonderul chef. He goes out of his way to ensure each meal is memorable. We ate at the hotel every night of our stay. Sarah provided us with great service from the pool / bar area and is very knowledgable of the island. The accommodation is fantastic, especially the suites along the front with the sea views. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with private verandahs for enjoying a quiet drink or just taking in the scenery.

“Excellence from start to end”

Hotel Kavos is one of those rare places that make you not only want to come back, but also never leave. It is impossible for us to believe that the negative statements made by a reviewer below could possibly be in reference to Kavos. We were there at the same time and cannot understand how their experience could have been so vastly different than ours.

During our stay we found the hotel to be clean, comfortable and beautiful. In fact, we checked out as per our itinerary, but loved it so much we returned a couple of days later for an extended stay in a villa. The staff was more than wonderful... they were friendly and warm without exception, and the food was the best we had on the island. There were some cats and kittens sunning themselves around the property (common in Greece) and they would occasionally make their way to the pool/bar area but they were not bothersome in any way and were gently shooed away by staff whenever they were discovered. The pool was pristine with clean towels available for use by patrons.

Beds in Greece are notoriously hard, but here at Kavos the beds were very comfortable, in fact the best we found during the month we travelled throughout Europe. Their bathrooms/showers are also a rare find in Greece, being very large with clear glass surrounds and gleaming marble. The rooms were cleaned daily, and new towels were left on the doorstep every morning so as not to disturb. We were there during mid-September 2011 and the gardens were resplendent and well taken care of by the dedicated groundskeeper.

The bilingual (Eng/Gr) hotel manager, Barbara, was lovely and went over and above whenever we needed anything. It was the best part of our accommodations in Greece and we just can't say enough good things about Hotel Kavos. We will absolutely be returning in the future.
