“Highlight of our Honeymoon”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

This review is long overdue - My husband and I stayed in Mykonos in April 2011 as part of our 5 week long honeymoon. Originally we had planned to stay for only two days but the service we received at Rocabella caused us to happily extend our trip.

Upon our arrival, we were greeted by some of the friendliest hotel staff ever. From the moment we arrived they treated us like royalty. When we got to our room they brought us champagne, fruit and a dessert made by the hotel owner's Grandmother to celebrate our honeymoon. They went above and beyond to make the trip memorable. We were there off season and the honeymoon suite hadn't been prepared yet but they spent an afternoon getting it ready and upgraded us for free.

Considering the weather wasn't exactly cooperating (it pretty much downpoured the whole time we were there) loved the fact that they had games and movies to borrow. At one point we called down to get room service but the restaurant wasn't open that didn't deter the staff they pulled something together and made us risotto anyways. It was delicious and I was beyond impressed. I would go back to Mykonos and Rocabella in an instant. If you are looking for a memorable vacation in an amazing location with top-notch staff then Rocabella is the perfect place for you.

“Liked the nice atmosphere”

We booked a Deluxe Room late September after the high-season. Everyone of the staff is very friendly and obliging. The hotel has a comfy atmosphere with lots of accessories to feel like home. Nice thing every evening: You will find either sweets or a small bottle of champagne on your bed sheet. Breakfast was pretty good, diversified and you could find quite a lot of healthy choices. Yogurt and juices seemed homemade and have been very delicious.
One of the restaurants in Hora we would like to recommend, it´s called “Alegro” at the waterfront, where you are going to get Greek, Italian (homemade fresh pasta) and other Mediterranean cuisine.
Small things at the hotel we disliked. The sizes of the rooms seemed bigger in the internet (we were allowed to look into the other rooms as well). We had Room 112 with a nice view and Outside-Jacuzzi. Unfortunately we could not use the Jacuzzi, cause it had no hot water connection while it was quite windy as well as cold. But in summer it should be a nice option to watch the sunset on top of the hotel.

“Brilliant hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 December 2011

We stayed for 5 nights at the Rocabella Art Hotel in Mykonos in early September for our honeymoon and had a wonderful stay. It's a beautiful hotel with excellent service, and I would definitely recommend it. We booked it on a special offer and we thought it was ncredibly good value for the price we paid.

We were picked up at the airport by a friendly driver who gave us chilled water and face wipes, and on arrival were given champagne and chocolate fondue, and a helpful tour of the hotel and description of the island. Our first night we were in a 'superior sea view room' which was pleasant but quite small and smelt a little of smoke, but for the rest of our stay we were in a gorgeous Deluxe Sea View Suite with Jacuzzi - amazing! It had 2 large bedrooms and bathrooms, a gorgeous terrace with sunloungers and jacuzzi, which was cleaned daily and warm water added by the brilliant housekeeping and maintenance staff. The whole hotel is impeccably clean. You also get a complimentary massage during your stay from their beauty therapist.

We ate twice at the hotel restaurant and had lunch there most days and the food was fantastic and the service excellent - the team really do go out of their way to look after you. Similarly breakfast was delicious with a well stocked buffet (even though we were invariably the last people to arrive just before it closed) with extensive choice, and you were never rushed.

The hotel is set in a quiet area about a 10 minute drive out of town which is a little inconvenient if like us you didn't want to rent a bike or car, but wasn't a problem as the hotel provide complimentary lifts to and from town until midnight, from their 2 very friendly drivers. You just have to call and within a very short time someone is there to take you / pick you up, so you could still enjoy frequent trips to town.

In town, to eat we'd highly recommend Bakalo (a recommendation from tripadvisor) - stunning food and such friendly staff. We only found it towards the end of the week but would have loved a second visit if we could have fitted one in. We did go to watch the sunset by the Windmills, but it's so busy! We realised later in the week that actually walking 5 minutes away from town from the hotel brings you to a beautiful remote spot where the view is just as good!

Thanks to all the team, front and back of house, for a lovely honeymoon.

Room Tip: Definitely worth paying the little more for the Deluxe and jacuzzi in our opinion

“Just Perfect!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 November 2011

We stayed at the Rocabella for 4 nights in early September. To sum it up, it was just PERFECT! The property is located in Agios Stefanos, which is really close to Mykonos town, and yet just a bit removed from the chaos where you can enjoy great views and R&R. It's a 5 to10-minute scenic drive to town, and the hotel provides complimentary shuttle transportation to/from the main town. Just let them know when you want to go and/or when you want to return (or just call when you're ready) and they'll take you or come pick you up at that time. It's a nice service and the drivers are very friendly.

The property is beautiful. It's located up on a hill with great views to Mykonos town and the Agean sea. The pool area is really nice with cabanas, ambient muisc, and nice views. The breakfast area is adjacent to the pool and provides the same great views and ambience as the pool. Breakfast is complimentary and EXCELLENt! A good variety of fruits, juices, hot and cold plates, and Champagne.... yes, Champagne!!

The staff is great. When you first arrive, you'll be greeted with champagne and then you'll sit down with Spyros, who will give you an overview of the island, suggest where to go, how to get around, etc...everything tailored to your taste and what you want to do. It's a great service and very useful. We never had anything like it here in the U.S. Everyone is really friendly and will do whaterver they can to accomodate your needs. Throughout your stay Spyrro will check in with you to see how everything is going and if there's anything he can do to help your stay and trip be the best it can be. This guy is really great and pays attention to all the small details. Thank you, Spyrro! Rocabella, Don't ever let him go! Special thanks too to the manager, Irene, who was always very prompt and helpful.

The rooms are spacious and clean, and with nice amenities and complimentary Wi-Fi . We had a private entrance and big balcony with great views to the ocean. When we arrived, they sent us a welcome chocolate fondue platter, which was nice to enjoy in our balcony while taking in the view and settling into island mode.

Overall, we had a great experience at Rocabella. The property, the service, and the staff were all just excellent. For us, it was one of those occasions where the hotel and staff really made a difference and enhanced our entire trip. We'd definitely go back and highly recommend it!
