Went in slow season toward end of October. Weather was humid with intermittent rain showers, very few guests at the time; it was peaceful and idyllic with lots of beautiful scenic picture opportunities. The staff is extremely nice and attentive. They will see to your every request and coordinate special trips, or whatever you want to do to make your trip special. The location is remote, so you are limited to walking around the complex on your own. I recommend the planned tours if you want something to do. This place is not for high end pampering. It is fun if you like hiking through the jungle, interacting with animals, visiting local villages, learning about the culture and eco-system. The resort has a small store with some basic sundries, so take your own aspirin, bug spray, water proof bag for your camera (everywhere you go is by boat), and other personal care necessities. They have an on-site nurse, a main area with an outdoor bar, and internet access. All meals are served from their buffet. If you tire of that you can order from the bar. They will prepare whatever you want if they have it.
We stayed in one of the Tarzan houses. Pros: It’s like a private cabin up in the trees. You have a private pool the size of a large spa, and your own patio. Cons: Hot water was warm. I would also recommend the Imperial Suite. The suites are all at the top of the towers. Pros: you have a view above the trees. Cons: more noise – in the all wood structures you hear people walking around, talking, etc.
Overall I highly recommend it as a unique and unforgettable place. I don’t think there is any place quite like it.
