I was visiting Stonehaven for the Sailing Club Summer Regatta and the Cardowan Bed and Breakfast was perfect.

Very quiet and only 10 minutes walk to the harbour.

Clean and tidy with a comfortable bed and generous breakfast, there was even a caraffe of whiskey in my room!

Stayed for 2 nights on business, took a few minutes to find the house but was worth it. Great rooms, first class, welcoming host and breakfast five stars, couldn't fault it. Wll be back for sure.

Can't recommend this place highly enough. Located a 5 minute walk from the shops in a beautiful Victorian house, Cardowan really made our trip something special.

We stayed for new years eve in the double room, which was spacious yet cosy. The en suite was good, with a great shower, despite being somewhat oddly accessed by walking through the last door of the wardrobe :-)

The fireball festival we came to see was fantastic, a good alternative way to spend new years eve, although Stonehaven itself did grind to a total halt the following day, with only the chippy and Indian restaurant open (which incidentally is great).

It's a shame we've got no reason to come here again, as I'd love to come back here. The owner Thelma is lovely, catering for our every need, and even driving us around town when we got here to show us everything.
