“Amazing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2011

We had booked at a place across the street. Due to difficulties with our flight being delayed by 2 days we couldn't stay there. We stumbled on Todo Blancos and fell in love. Peaceful place, gorgeous views, quiet rooms that are large and spacious. Staff treated us well. All rooms are facing the beach. Place is clean. Breakfast was nice. Owners were pleasant as were their well behaved dogs. We planned on staying 3 nights in Las Galleras. Once we landed here we couldn't move and spent our whole trip here. We walked or hired moto drivers to a better beach nearby.

“Great spot on the beach - tranquil and welcoming”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2011

A lovely hotel and good value for the village.
Maurizio the manager was charming and welcoming, the room was large, light, airy, clean and quiet (we were on the end of the row) with reliable plumbing and hot water. There are five dogs but they behave impeccably, no barking or bothering you, the breakfast is fresh and tasty (not included in room rate) and the views of the beach from the room are fantastic.
For us the main appeal was to find some peace and quiet after spending a week in an all-inclusive with noisy groups followed by a few days in another B&B with no soundproofing. Though the village is small and billed as sleepy, it can be noisy with dancehall music and motorbikes so this hotel was a great find being away from the noise but walking distance to everything. One tip: don't bother hiring a car to get to Las Galeras as we did - once there we found quads were the best way to get to the beaches and sights.

“Nice little spot on the water”

Maurizio, the manager, provided us with a wonderfully relaxing few days on the Samanà Peninsula. The hotel is ideally situated close to town on the beach (it's easier to get into the "center" on the beach than the road actually). The place is spotless, and the grounds are charming.

The resident family of dogs is one of the best things about this hotel - each with very distinct personalities. They are friendly and very obedient - and wonderful companions for a walk down the beach (which they aren't allowed to go on without human escort).

“better and cheaper than villa serena”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 August 2010

the rooms were clean. there was warm water in the shower. every room overlooks the pool and the ocean. breakfast was included and was great. kids loved the resident cat. though beware that the cat will pinch your melon if you're not looking. good beach area right in front. very quiet. there is just a screen between one balcony and the next. but there's a great hammock next to the pool in the shade.

the staff didn't have to wear the ridiculous maid outfits like they do at villa serena. villa serena's beachfront is also quite small and you can't walk anywhere from there.

the downside was without a/c you really have to keep the windows open at night to let in air. which means lots of mosquitos when we were there. after the first night we drove about 20min out of town to get to a store selling mosquiteros to hang over the bed.

“Simply lovely”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 June 2010

Just back from five wonderful, relaxing days at Todo Blanco. What a lovely hotel. It's perched right on the beach, steps from the water, with very beautiful grounds. We had breakfast every morning overlooking the ocean, and a stunning ocean view from our room. It has a very cheerful, laid-back vibe in a very cheerful, laid-back town.

(As a response to that previous reviewer who called this a dump: he should check into an all-inclusive Club Med somewhere and leave the little gems to people who can appreciate their charms. This hotel is very clean, we had hot water every day, and yeah there's no manning the reception desk 24-hours, but this is a rustic inn on the beach with only a few employees - ring the bell and someone is there to help you within seconds.)

We paid around $70 US a night, which is a very good value. They serve a beautiful breakfast, and I think they serve dinner in high season but that was not available to us in June. For lunch/dinner there are numerous casual places to eat in town within a five minute walk from the hotel. For fancier dining you can try the hotel Villa Serena (a ten minute walk), or head up to the AMAZING El Cabito - one of the best views on the planet and really delicious seafood (40 minute hike or a ten minute drive, make sure you have a 4WD if you're driving in Las Galeras!).

Don't miss taking a day trip or two to some of the beautiful beaches nearby. Playa Fronton and Playa Rincon are very cool spots, we had a memorable adventure to each of them. (FYI: The beach right in town at Las Galeras is very shallow so not the best for swimming.)

Relax and enjoy!!!
