My partner and I stayed here for one night during Easter 2007. As part of a six day road trip through Scotland, staying at Glenmoriston Manse Guest House was a great way to relax in the middle of nowhere (almost in the middle of Scotland, between Fort William and Inverness). Owners Angela and Mark made us feel very welcome, offering tea and biscuits on arrival and were eager to offer insight into the history of the house, the area etc, yet without being too imposing. They are very passionate about the area and offered good suggestions as to where to go and what to see; Eilean Donan Castle, Loch Ness, Castle Urquhart, whisky distilleries, etc...
Plenty of books are available to read, including information on the local area. It's a great place to relax on the leather sofa, or in front of the open fire. If you don't feel like reading, just sit and steer out the window at the deer, mountains, river, farmland, and various little furry animals going about their business.
Nearby, we visited picturesque Fort Augustus and tried one of the local restaurants recommended by the owners.
Being a new B&B, the rooms are nice, clean and comfortable. Towels are fluffy and fresh. Tea and coffee making facilities are provided in the room, along with a TV, etc. They even provided Easter eggs in our room!
Breakfast was a treat. We had the full Scotish cooked breakfast, perfectly done. The fruit smoothies are so good, they would give Innocent a run for their money!
All in all, not a bad word to say. I wish Angela and Mark success for their new found venture and recommend staying at Glenmoriston Manse Guest House if ever in the area.
